The Holt is een leuke plek die voldoende ruimte bood aan ons als gezin, 2 volwassenen en 2 kinderen. Ook buiten kun je heerlijk zitten, zeker als het weer mee zit een ideaal plekje. Vanuit churchinford kan je prefect Devon ontdekken, wat wij gedaan hebben. De host familie is zeer vriendelijk, behulpzaam en reageert snel. Een aanrader voor de Devon regio!

Lovely 4 night stay in The Holt, clean, tidy and everything we would need for a few days away. on the edge of a very quiet little village, about 20 minutes drive if you want a supermarket or take away. Village shop sells all essentials. Be prepared for the mezzanine bed, not an issue for us as our daughter slept up there and we used the comfortable sofa bed. Not much more to say other than if you're looking for somewhere to stay in The area that is out of the way, peaceful and quiet, The Holt is definitely worth considering

We felt that the high bed would be OK as we are very agile, but it was extremely difficult to get into without folding over double due to lack of ceiling height. The fact it is wedge shaped and therefore not the same height at the feet end was a practical problem and when we turned over, our knees hit the ceiling. We don't feel that this bed is fit for purpose in any way unless it is lowered. The towels were good but by day 3 were saturated and we struggled to dry them which was horrible. The heating thermostat is set to 19 degrees I think and it was not warm enough. I know it mentioned to ask you to turn it up but it would have been nice to be able to turn up ourselves easily to dry the towels for one thing. We never found a wardrobe to hang anything, presumed it was behind the door but couldn't open it so just had the hanging hooks. The shampoo/shower gel and hand soap was not full and difficult to pump out of the bottles. There wasn't a pair of oven gloves which made cooking hazardous. The shower didn't really feel very clean and the whole en suite felt really wet/damp constantly. Plenty of water though. The access was quite tight through the gate as we drive a Renault master van so location, although beautiful, was slightly difficult. Very remote and quiet which was a bonus. WIFI excellent and independence from main house pleasing.

La maison est très agréable et très bien située pour visiter la région (parcs nationaux, villes du bord de mer, campagne anglaise...). La première nuit sur la mezzanine est surprenante mais on s'y habitue très bien. Mention spéciale pour le pub du village mais pensez à réserver pour manger le soir. Nicola est discrète et très sympa.
