This is a spectacular house on an unspoilt tropical island over looking the forest, ocean and white sand beaches. Situated on a hillside 70 metres from the beach. The house sleeps up to 6 adults and 2 children. A part time cleaning service is included in the price - Breakfast, and full cooking service are optional extras. The house is extremely comfortable and filled with beautiful furniture and art. Come and experience it! Araca Azul house is positioned on a lush tropical hillside with a wondrous panorama of sea, sky and forest. To north and south palm fringed white sand beaches stretch off into the distance and a network of coral reefs turn the ocean into a painters palette of turquoise, blues and aquamarines. The house is designed to take full advantage of the view and is built on two levels each one with a unique aspect. It’s elevated position also gives it the advantage of a constant gentle breeze, essential during the hot summer days and nights in keeping the house fresh and aired. It’s position above the forest canopy brings the outdoors in and it’s generous sliding doors and windows brings the indoors out. Tropical hard wood verandas rather than corridors connect the rooms, and the kitchen and sitting room are divided by a decked area through which an ancient mangaba tree grows, perfuming the air with it’s sweet scented fruit and flowers. Built around the trunk of the mangaba is a hard wood table seating up to eight and offering a wonderful outside dining experience The house sits in the middle of a hillside garden filled with flowers and trees giving a welcome relief from the sun. Accommodation is in 3 bedrooms which can accommodate 6 adults. We can take a Maximum of 6 adults plus two kids under 10 years. They can either sleep in one of the rooms on a child’s bed or sofa bed - or in an extra wooden room we have. The price of the house includes a part time cleaner who takes care of the house and a gardener. HOUSE Araca Azul is built on two levels. The lower level has a large kitchen/ dining room with seating for eight and is fully equipped with hobs, oven, fridge/freezer, UV filtered drinking water, Vitamix blender and everything else you need to prepare a feast or just a snack. Across the deck from the kitchen is the sitting room with a small library, lounge furniture built from recycled boat wood. The lower level also has a bathroom with toilet and sink and a laundry room. A wooden stairs takes you upstairs to the second level where the bedrooms are located. The master bedroom has a super king size double bed, antique wardrobe, chest and clothes hanging area as well as a sofa-bed. Adjacent is an en suite bathroom with shower, loo and b’day. Next to this are two more bedrooms – one with 2 single beds and the other with a queen size double bed. Both have ensuite bathrooms equipped with a shower, toilet and sink. These 3 rooms all have air conditioning and hot water from a solar system. Behind the house is an extra room - built entirely of recycled boat wood, with its own bathroom also. This room can be used if more space is needed for kids or someone alone. It’s very romantic and rustic - but has no AC and some people find it too rustic! The main house can sleep 6 adults plus 2 young children or babies. We lived in this house for 5 years with our three children and so we know how to make sure you have a truly magical experience. We have two staff working at the house. Joabe the gardener and caretaker, and Lucineide the housekeeper. Their primary job is to look after the house and garden, but if you would like a full hotel service we can offer this for R$400 per day for groups os 2 to 4 people and R$600 per day for groups of 5 to 10 people. This includes; a food delivery service from Joabe (he will buy and deliver groceries for you), a full Bahian breakfast served every morning by Lucineide (coffee, fresh fruit, cake, tapioca, juice, eggs, fresh bread...) full cleaning service including washing dishes and doing laundry - until 12pm. We highly recommend this service as it will help make your stay truly magical.
