David is a great host, friendly, helpful and flexible (we could easily bring along a friend whose arrival we communicated as soon as we knew about her visit). He is a super nice person, communicative and always up to a little chat. The house, being located in the old city, has this historical vibe. The room was simple but okay. On the one hand, the location is great, so close to the main historical center of Salvador, just a few minutes by foot. On the other hand, just those few hundert meters up to the „tourist perimeter“ - or better said going back specially when it’s dark (which is usually the case after dinner, and you can’t cook in the pousada, it’s just for sleeping) - don’t feel really safe as a „visible“ tourist. Kind of a „real Salvador“ neighborhood which can be a bit rough. Uber won’t come there easily for a short distance ride, normal taxis do.
