Richard is a very warm and welcoming host. However, we did have some issues with the property. We were staying out of season, and agreed to cover the heating costs. However, Richard told us upon arrival that the property was oil heated and very expensive, which we feel should have been communicated at booking. In addition, the heating system is very old, and several of the radiators were impossible to turn off. Therefore, the heating was not only expensive but inefficient, which caused us stress during our stay. The fireplace is a beautiful feature, but we felt like it also needed maintenance as we would sometimes come home to a sooty smell in the living room which we did not like. There was also a damp smell in some parts of the property. Overall, we felt as though the property was due some maintenance and modernization.

Such a lovely cottage and spacious inside and out. A fenced area for our four legged friend, plenty of games in the house to entertain and great location for sun set The pool is perfect and much needed in the 35 degree plus heat we had! Thank you Richard for a lovely property to enjoy our travels of France in The Hautefort castle is most definitely worth a trip - as is Brantome and StJean Cole for restaurants
If you want a peaceful break in the Dordogne, this is the place! Beautiful farmhouse with plenty of space for all of us. The pool really is a bonus and my son used it to full advantage. For us it was great to have our dog with us and Richard had fenced off and area In the garden for him to run around. The area is peaceful and there are plenty of leaflets in the house with suggestions of where to visit. Also a supermarket and vet ( if you have brought your pet) very nearby. Overall a relaxing break.
