Just wow. My friend and I were after a peaceful getaway from our kids and John's place delivered in spades. A beautifully quiet house where, when you open the windows and patio door upstairs you just hear the rustle of the trees and tweets of the birds. John is a fantastic host, very responsive and has great knowledge of the local area. Explained the guest situation very clearly and politely and left us to crack on with our stay. The place itself has 2 nice sized bedrooms with ensuites with an open plan setting upstairs. The garden is beautiful and the sitting area outside is perfect for a late evening beer, with the added touch of blankets stored in the wardrobes (bring some citronella or something as the bugs are very active and bitey!) and a fire pit which John left well stocked (although we went out too late to get started). I would 100% recommend you stay here, and I have a feeling we'll be back.

A very comfortable, secure and homely house. We stayed there as we are between selling and buying houses and it works perfectly for us and our two dogs. Wi-Fi is good for home working. John and Linda are warm and welcoming but not intrusive.

A neglected property which feels unloved. Needs a deep clean, decorating and better changeover cleaning. Fixtures and fittings tatty and old. Furniture broken. Soft furnishings and stair carpet have a strong smell which stays on your clothes if you sit on it. Scrap car parked outside the gate not a good first impression. Mattresses old and lumpy and sloping. A real shame because it could be lovely of someone put the effort in.

Very disappointed with this property. Having given ages of children travelling with us there was no stair gate in place, as this was an upside down house, it was essential this was in place for our arrival. Cleaning not up to standard, crisp on bedroom floor, dirty dishwashing sponge and numerous cobwebs. No temperature marking on oven controls. Terrible state of repair throughout. Banister (including glass panels) not fitted correctly and moved thus being unsafe. EV charging was access to an outdoor socket using a domestic plug-in power meter. Again unsafe. Heating not on when we arrived ( v. cold) and unclear operating instructions TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE WHEN OWNER LET HIMSELF IN WHILST WE WERE THERE
