Florence maintains a wonderful atmosphere of "easygoingness" and charm which is a treat to experience. A great host and will come again just to visit Florence.

Initially communication was good but on the day of arrival we couldn’t get hold of Florence.. we turned up at the stated check in time and she wasn’t there to greet us. Another guest let us in and showed us to a room so we could at least get ready for our concert! He said if it’s the wrong room Florence will move us later. He contacted her and she was on her way home. Another guest offered us a lift which was very nice of him. After the concert we met Florence who was a very lovely lady and nothing was too much... she apologised for not being there when we arrived. However we found the house to be very cluttered with cracks on the ceiling and wallpaper hanging off, also the door in our room was very squeaky. (I was worried to go to the toilet in the night incase of waking others). There was lots of furniture in our room so not much room. Although the bed was comfortable we didn’t sleep well due to the alarm going off at Travis Perkins next door. (We know this can’t be helped) We ended up leaving at 05.15 so didn’t have breakfast. For us the house was just too cluttered.. sorry Florence

This is a really special place. Unusual - reminded me of a Dickens novel, a proper boarding house - quirky and warm with a caring atmosphere.
