Stylish and easily accommodates 6 adults and 2 kids and is serviced daily by our friendly and competent staff. You won't want to leave... Enjoy the easy-going elegance and homely atmosphere of this Mozambican style house. Whether booked for a romantic break away or a holiday with family and friends, the interior's attention to detail creates an inviting atmosphere for memories to be made. 3 Stylish bedrooms offer on-suite bathrooms, comfortable beds, romantic finishes, quality linen, pillows, fans and mosquito nets. Two downstairs bedrooms offer a king and queen size bed respectively. Both rooms also have outside doors. The spacious and private Loft room offers a double bed, 2 3/4 beds and an adjoining half-bathroom. An enclosed outside shower is on the first floor. Bath and beach towels are available. A comfortable open plan living area with moveable glass doors, leads to the patio. The well-equipped kitchen caters for the avid cook, with fridge-freezer, chest freezer and bar fridge, a gas hob, frying pan, toaster, microwave oven and a quality Q300 Weber outside braai and pantry. Quality pots, pans, utensils, crockery and glasses are available. Dining areas are available inside and outside or visit Chill Beach Bar for a meal and cocktails, while the kids enjoy the pool.

It was a amazing, beautiful snorkelling spot, spesially for young teenagers. Felt like home. Picturesque views. Lots of sea creatures in shallow water. Kind and helpful staff. Safe environment, creating total relaxation for parents with young ones.

Exceeded expectations!! Trudies home ,Loft 6 , was everything we needed. From the impeccable service of the staff and such warm welcome from the locals and also Jules & her husband whom were too generous and helpful throughout our 4 day stay. The hosts are helpful and excellent communicators which makes the entire experience at ease and wonderful especially if it’s your first time in Moz like us. Again thank you so much Trudie and Jules. The pictures are accurate and the amenities however I personally think pictures don’t do the accommodation justice, it’s too beautiful, peaceful and private. I would recommend Farol Barra any day and I hope we able to come as a family next time and stay longer.

Barra Beach with the historical Barra Lighthouse, guarding the exposed 1949 SS Inharrime shipwreck, is a major Mozambican tourist attraction.
On the beach, nestled against the palm stippled dunes lies Farol da Barra Lodge, containing 15 self-catering houses complete with a pool and wi-fi available at Chill Beach Bar and Restaurant.
Surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, local island dhow trips, quad biking, sunset cruises, local markets, relaxing on the beach and enjoying fresh seafood in a selection of restaurants along the beach, are available.
Scuba diving offers some of the best in the world with all year-round sightings of Dolphins, Manta Rays and Whale Sharks. From mid-June to mid-October the Humpback Whales make a yearly visit. The many stunning reefs cater for beginner and advanced divers.
Snorkeling is popular below the lighthouse at low tide where there is a natural tidal pool.

A 4x4 is recommended but a 4x2 with deflated tires will be able to handle the last 1.5 km on the sand road if you are used to driving on sand. If a normal vehicle is your only option, we can put you in contact with reliable transfer operators (own cost) and you may leave your vehicle at the local police station. The beach road leading to Farol da Barra is only open during low tide. To be safe rather take the turn-off to your right just prior to the Barra T-junction, indicated with a Farol da Barra sign. Follow the road to the Barra Lighthouse and at the end of the straight road turn sharp left onto the beach, to arrive at Farol da Barra, Casa 6.
