We had a lovely time. Ate in every night except one. Kitchen very functional for 2 people. Modern refrigeration, stove/oven, dishwasher, definitely an upgrade from Frank's design. Internet and Dish TV. Most quiet toilets I've every heard. The birds were great, 3 different types of woodpeckers, cardinals (male and female), doves and chickadees. We experienced a massive rain storm and no leaks, I thought FLW houses were suppose to leak, just kidding.

The history of the place is fascinating, and the location is beautiful. In addition to the architecture and craftsmanship of the house, itself, the gardens that surround it blend into the wooded hills beyond them seamlessly. Both inside and outside, the whole property is mesmerizing. I had brought a couple of books that I had intended to read, but found them far less interesting than the collection of books on Frank Lloyd Wright, Usonian homes, and the Arts and Crafts movement. But the grounds aren't why we went, and neither are the books; it is the chance to stay in a home that was designed by Mr. Wright, and to soak up the experience in a way you can't on a tour. Staying here was a truly memorable occasion, and a vacation, in and of itself. Regardless of whether you have any other reason to visit the area.

We had a two night cozy getaway in Doug’s FLW home and it was absolutely fantastic. Extremely clean and well cared for, this was our third FLW home that we have stayed at, and it was in the best shape. You can tell a lot of care and energy went into restoring this home. Doug was quite kind and very responsive. I would definitely recommend his home.. it’s truly one of a kind.

Wonderful to get to experience this complex Frank Lloyd Wright design over a period of time, and notice design details that might not have been apparent in a tour. Host was super flexible about booking and check in, and when we finally arrived we were welcomed with a fire in the fireplace. It was a comfortable stay--we really felt at home, which in a Wright house is particularly special. This is one of the most interesting Wright houses we've seen--the experience was a highlight of our trip.

The Meyer House was amazing. It was so interesting and the gardens were lovely. The house was filled with Frank Lloyd Wright books and fun facts. Nearby, there were fun things to do for our two teenage boys. What a great Memorial Day weekend.
