This superb, detached cottage is in the village of Sandbach near to Congleton in Cheshire and can sleep two people in one bedroom. Chequer Stable is a superb detached cottage in the village of Sandbach near to Congleton in Cheshire. The cottage can sleep two people in a mezzanine double bedroom as well as a ground floor bathroom. The cottage also contains an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove. To the outside of the cottage is off road parking for two cars and an enclosed patio with furniture and BBQ. Chequer Stable is ideally located for visiting lots of different areas to enjoy.

A very nice and exceptionally well equiped home. The kitchen in particular has every utensil you can think of, and the cupboards are full of equipment. My memory might fail me - but I don't think the description mentions there is an ice box in fridge - there is! Light sleepers may be disturbed by some minor animal noises, and the stairs up to the bedroom are a little tight if you have limited mobility (or in my case: too many pies). I would recommend this house to anyone, and is perfect for short trips. I travelled on busines and it also suited my requirments.

Sandbach is a large historic market town in Cheshire and dating back to Saxon times with its famous Saxon Crosses still visible in the cobbled square. The town offers plenty of interesting shops with many pubs and restaurants to visit. The Brereton Heath Nature Reserve is a place to visit with some lovely walks and some interesting wood sculptures to observe. Also there is Wheelock Hall Farm and for something a little different you can visit St Mary's Church, a Grade II listed building with some beautiful stained glass windows as well as the church yard which is a magical place to explore.
