This is a great place to stay in Lanikai! Wonderful Hosts, quick to respond, efficient and fun with the true Aloha spirit. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend it! Hope to be back soon.

Overall we had a great stay. Star and her family were very welcoming, very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed getting to know them. Pros: - incredible location, a few steps from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island! It was nice to walk out of the front yard and be on the beach. It was a good spot for kids and for snorkeling. We could hear the waves when sleeping at night. - the house is very spacious and has amazing views from the 2nd floor towards the beach (there is a wrap-around balcony) - We were there in the summer and it was hot and humid. Star had a portable A/C unit placed in the Master bedroom. - there is a TV with Netflix / Prime Video / Disney+, etc in the living room (this wasn’t clear from the pictures, so it was a nice surprise). Cons: - we encountered a lot of really big cockroaches. There may be plans to fumigate, so hopefully this will be resolved in the future, but for us it was very unpleasant. The downstairs was especially bad - we were killing a handful of very large cockroaches on a daily basis. - the house inside is outdated in terms of interior, furniture, fixtures (rust), carpet stains and it could have been cleaned better. - due to its popularity the beach was very crowded in the summer and can also get noisy, both during the day and at night, so if sensitive to noise, that may be an issue. - Another consideration if looking for privacy is that the lot / lawn is shared with another house and there are lots of visitors and potentially other renters in addition to the owners’ family, who live there. - the Wi-Fi did not work during our stay. Hopefully, that is another issue that can get resolved. We ended up using our phones for internet, but it wasn’t ideal, given that we were trying to work part-time and complete remote classes.

I’ve returned to Lanikai solo for the last 10 years, renting the same studio apartment and enjoying the beach and competitive outrigger paddling on this most beautiful beach. I decided to share my love of this place and the Hawaiian experience with family and lifelong friends and took a leap to rent Heather’s place for a month. Not cheap, but worth it. Everyone was changed for the better and experienced an understanding of Aloha they did not have previously,. This was primarily due to Heather’s Ohana (extended family)., who welcomed us as friends. The physical structure is old, completely functional and the location/ sunrise views are phenomenal. Heather was responsive to any and every issue and we all left yearning for more.

Perfect vacation rental. Star’s home is located directly on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The view from the windows directly onto the blue, blue ocean never gets old. FYI – we were pleasantly surprised that Star’s home was a bit larger than the photos showed with a true upstairs and downstairs for separate living areas… nice! YES! We will be returning.
