Such a beautiful place!! It takes you back in time for sure, and we did not want to leave. Very quiet and private. Ramona was wonderful and very helpful! Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning !
Quite traditional place in the middle of nature, nicely restored traditional house. Confortable beds and linen, very well equipped kitchen, cosy stay. Far from the city - which was what we were looking for. Unfortunately (all) the roads in a 14-21km radius around the manor are lacking asphalt. Highly recommended!
An authentic and lovely place. You will feel easily like part of the story. The house is wonderful and time can change completely its dynamics here. The surroundings are amazing and a few hours walk will charge you up completely. Looking forward to come back during summer.
Conacul Mantescu is a special place, for independent and responsible travelers. Hikes in the surrounding hills and forest are amazing and plenty of wonders (ancient caves and inscriptions, wild nature and pure air). Ruginoasa is not a mass tourism destination (there is no touristic infrastructure at all), but a nice calm place in the middle of Mother Nature and ancient historical heritage (the Pyramid, Policiori cave, several inscriptions hidden in the forest stones, etc). The house is comfortable and warm enough even in winter time (wood for the stoves, one in each room, is provided), but guests need to independently ensure the maintenance of the fire. Also, visitors need to bring enough food and drinking water, as grocery shops are very few in the area and the water in the house comes from a source. Ramona is an excellent and reactive host, always ready to answer your questions and super kind in providing assistance with all touristic information needed. Her successful project of rehabilitating a family old traditional house should be an example for those who have the opportunity to do so. The result is really amazing and inspiring. We spent one week in Conacul Mantescu and it has been an unforgettable nice experience :-). Thanks Ramona for your friendly hospitality and congratulations for your beautiful house, we will surely come back soon !
