This is a rundown hotel called Guide Hotel in Hsinchu. Old, dirty, poorly maintained and nothing like the pictures. Pictures used were probably taken 10-20 years ago. The room was in extreme poor conditions with dents, scuffs, peeling wallpapers, stains on walls, as well as leaking bathrooms, old dirty couch that my family would not sit on, the carpet is so dirty I wouldn’t walk on it without shoes (and we usually don’t wear shoes inside our house). We asked for a room change which the staff was very accommodating and apologised because “it’s a 40 year old hotel” and upgraded us to their best room which is bigger and less rundown but overall still very old and dirty, most importantly nothing like the pictures shown. They offer free breakfast but even that was barely passable, and the bacon they served is either rotten or too old. Staffs are very helpful and friendly which I feel bad giving this review but at the end of the day, I feel others deserved to be warned.
