Green Peace is our naturally-minded little home - she's nestled in gorgeous tropical gardens, next to a creek. Suitable for remote workers and travellers wanting to slow down, settle somewhere and explore our beautiful region! You'll love it here if you're environmentally-conscious, plant-loving and/or a health nut(s). Please note that our home hasn't been designed for children - however - if you think Green Peace seems ideal for your family - message me prior to booking with some info. Situated on a quiet street in North Mission, 5 minutes walking distance to the beach (coconut-lined) and Ulysses walking track. Follow this walking track to local eateries, fruit & veg shop, Sunday markets (2-3 times a month). Green Peace has been beautifully designed. Large verandah overlooking a pretty part of the garden. Feel free to turn the spot-lights on at night! The open-plan living/dining/kitchen area has a vaulted ceiling, it's a beautiful space as you can see in the photos! A nice place to spend most of your indoor time. Green Peace is kept clean and well-maintained by a team of naturally-minded professionals (manager, concierge, cleaner and gardener!). Heidi (home owner 2) is a naturopath and nutritionist. Enjoy the divine scents of citrus and peppermint essential oils, the gentle eco dishwashing liquid, bathing in Sukin body wash/shampoo/conditioner.. or sipping on a nutritious pot of herbal tea :) Green Peace will keep you dry and cool when it's hot and humid. The inside spaces are perfect for working, reading, creating, sleeping, playing in the kitchen (aka preparing food and cooking), watching movies + more! Green Peace has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The MASTER BEDROOM is stylish, minimal and spacious. Light-filled during the day with views of the lush tropical gardens. Comfy and dark at night for a restful sleep. Plenty of space in the walk-in robe (opposite study nook) and ENSUITE - spacious, modern, clean and non-toxic :) The SECOND Bohemian-styled BEDROOM (like the master) features a fully-encased mattress and pillows. Perfect for allergy sufferers* (like home owner 2). Plenty of space in the wardrobe. Novels (mostly biographies), board games, notepads, pens/pencils and other handy items are dotted around the place for your convenience! Green Peace allows for a maximum of 4 people. For solo/couple travellers we offer half the house - 1 bedroom at a reduced rate. Please see the listing 'Green Peace (1 bedroom)' for more info :) WORKING REMOTELY A study nook located next to the master bedroom is a peaceful place to work - the view over-looking the backyard garden is lovely! Comfy desk chair provided. Wi-Fi connection is good, but not super fast - please ask for speeds etc. if this matters to you :) *sensitive individuals please contact me regarding any specific needs that you have (Heidi is a sensitive soul and will be completely honest with you :) THE FULLY-EQUIPPED KITCHEN features a gas burner, electric oven, dishwasher, small sleek LG refrigerator. The kitchen cabinets are fully stocked with op-shop style crockery and cutlery. Basic supplies feature organic black and herbal teas, organic ground coffee (plus plunger), coconut/agave sugar, grapeseed oil, apple cider vinegar, local honey and an abundance of herbs and spices! A smart rice cooker will be available for you to use.

Beautiful area close to the beach, the house is clean and fresh also very quiet area. I would advise a car to allow for visits around the amazing waterfalls and parks. Heidi was very welcoming and always responsive, we felt very settled home from home. Would not hesitate to book again ❤️
We really enjoyed our stay in Green Peace, the garden for me was magical. We were delighted to try the homegrown bananas that were harvested during our stay. Thanks Heidi for your generous spirit 🙏 The house was perfect for all our needs and as it rained a lot we made use of it more than I expected we would. Mission beach is paradise in any weather 🌴🙌🦋
We loved our stay and Green Peace. It’s a beautiful quite part of Mission Beach and only a beachside stroll to the stinger net and restaurant area. Heidi was great to deal with and super helpful! We’ll be back again soon.

Green Peace is a great base for exploring the delights of Mission Beach by car, bike or on foot! :)
Enjoy the slower relaxed pace of village life. Go for a dip in the ocean, explore the local walking trails, collect a coconut, enjoy a meal at one of the beachfront restaurants.. or just sit on our side verandah reading a book, studying, working, sipping a sparking lemon mineral water to the sounds of the gurgling creek and happy birds!
NORTH MISSION
14 km stretch of white sandy beach meets lush rainforest. Making up our four small 'village' towns. Bingil Bay, NORTH MISSION (home of Green Peace), Wongaling Beach and South Mission Beach (from north to south). Our region is filled with waterfalls, swimming holes and the infamous cassowaries!
In our opinion, North Mission is the second prettiest! The rainforest in Bingil Bay (prettiest town) is very dense and lush - most of it is protected too. Driving/riding/running through Bingil Bay is divine! The winding road right beside the coast surrounded by stunning rainforest.. mmm.... mmm!!! However, North Mission, is still absolutely gorgeous, and is our preferred place to be situated.. we love being close to Leny's Fruit & Veg (10 minute cycle), the Ulysses Walking Track (5 minute walk), local markets (10 minute cycle), stinger net (5 minute cycle/15 minute walk) and Post Office! It's considered the 'hub'. Most of the local restaurants, bars and cafes are here, along with a mini mart (open 7am-7pm 7 days a week). :) The main supermarket (Woolworths) and pharmacy are located in Wongaling Beach - a 7 minute drive - however, they're closed on Sundays! :(
We used to live in Wongaling Beach. While there are some pretty areas in this town - unfortunately a large portion of the rainforest has been cleared! :( Wongaling Beach is the most densely populated town - hence, where the local Woolies is! :D
Most people living in the area commute via vehicle. We actually lived car-free for the first 2 years (an unforgettable experience!)!!
If you're into sightseeing and want to experience lots of things in the region from swimming holes, to nature walks/hikes, waterfalls etc. it's probably best to have a car.
There are a few car hire options in Cairns (a great way of getting to/from Mission Beach).
However, if you're wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.. slow down and have a truly relaxing holiday, then you will be fine without a car! :)
North Mission is a great location for ocean swimming (during stinger season there's a net), going to the local markets, dining - cafes and restaurants, nature walks/hiking. There's also a wonderful pool nearby for lap swimming or soaking in the heated indoor pool ($4.50 per person!).
Your car can be parked under the carport.
A ladies bike is available for use.
There aren't many public transport options in Mission Beach. Mission Link can take you wherever you need to go in the region 24/7. It also provides an airport shuttle service to/from Cairns.
Greyhound coaches travel daily from Wongaling Beach to Innisfail - Cairns and Tully - Townsville. We've travelled many times with Greyhound.. especially when we didn't have a car lol! I have found these coaches to be behind schedule most of the time :(
My fav modes of transport are cycling, running and walking! Walking from our home to the beach isn't so exciting - along Conch St, but once you arrive, walking into North Mission along the Ulysses Walking Track is gorgeous. This track connects to the Cutten Brothers Walking Track which takes you to the jetty.

Our passions are minimalism, helping the less fortunate and sustainability. Fitness is a shared passion of ours. Ben is amazing at running, he's always checking out what event he can enter next!
