The Baldwin Double Queen is a 2nd-floor room that takes up an entire wing of the house and even has its own foyer. Two queen beds make up the ample bedroom that includes an antique desk. The expansive bathroom has a great view of Ludlow house and is decorated with charmingly intricate bird tile that is a precise replica of Victorian transferware tile imported from England; a rainforest shower and clawfoot soaking bathtub complete the space. Summit Street Inns, located in the historic West End neighborhood, is comprised of the Ludlow and Sheppard houses, both historic architectural masterpieces. Summit Street Inns was extensively restored to the highest historic standards from 2020-2023. It is now open to the public, boasting of 10 well-appointed overnight guest rooms and over-the-top bathroom accommodations exceeding any industry standard for luxury and comfort. The property features beautiful gardens, comfortable outdoor living spaces, event space and on-site parking. There is a billiards room and parlor, as well. All guests at Summit Street Inns also have the option of enjoying a complimentary breakfast at Founders Restaurant, just a mile away.

I had a wonderful experience staying at the beautiful historic bed. It truly was a delightful stay that exceeded my expectations in every way. Firstly, the location was perfect - nestled in a quiet street yet within walking distance of the main street, bustling with great restaurants. This made exploring the area convenient and enjoyable. The attention to detail throughout the property was remarkable. The restoration work was done with such care and respect for the house's history, creating a charming and inviting atmosphere. Despite its age, modern fixtures added a touch of luxury and convenience. The highlight for me was the spacious couple rain shower and pampering bathtub in the unit. It was a true indulgence after a day of exploring. The breakfast provided was a delicious treat, with fresh fruits and a selection of breakfast items. I will definitely choose to stay there again on my next visit.

Definitely great southern hospitality and the continental breakfast was perfect. The area was great for shopping and dining. Can’t wait to do it over again if you have never stayed here it is a must.
