Lake Elmo · 农家乐 · 2室2床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · The Fox Den: Comfy Farmhouse Lower Unit
Welcome to Whippletree! This is our sixth-generation family farm, and while it's more of a hobby farm now, it has been in continuous agricultural production since 1869! We consider this our sanctuary and enjoy sharing it with others looking for a place of retreat to connect with the natural world. Your space is the full first floor of the original farmhouse with two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen, living room and dining room. There’s a desk in the living room area. Being built in 1900, it's got some rough edges here and there, though it is clean and comfortable. You'll have access to a backyard for your exclusive use, as well as access to the nature trails on this farm property. The farm often has some level of activity going on and you will see other people. The upper unit is also rented; it's listed on this platform as "The Owl's Nest." We live on the property in a separate residence.
We had a delightful two week stay at the farmhouse. Peter and Madeline are excellent hosts and kept in touch throughout making sure all was ok. The location is peaceful and quiet. I would happily stay here again.
We had a great stay! It feels even bigger in person than in the photos! Peter was extremely responsive, the bed was comfy, and there were lots of personal touches. The walk around the property was lovely, with lots of birds chirping. The goats by the farm were entertaining too!
Wonderful farmhouse with lots to explore. We enjoyed our stay very much. Highly recommended!!
It was a wonderful homey stay for having to be away from home for a few days because of a remodel.
What a gem! I stayed for a long weekend in late March. The AirBnB itself is spacious, well laid out and thoughtfully designed. Living room has a stylish desk, comfy couch and a huge tv mounted on an enviable mid century wall unit. The dining room and kitchen are large and well-equipped. Bedrooms are well designed and I slept so soundly. The setting is spectacular. Even though it was late winter I saw: wild turkeys, sandhill cranes (!), goldfinches, robins, cardinals, bluebirds, dark eyed juncos, black capped chickadees and white breasted nuthatches. And a deer! The hosts were easy to communicate with and the house manual and helpful local recommendations.
This is a historic 40 acre farm nestled in a suburban neighborhood with close access to St. Paul (20 minutes) and Stillwater (10 minutes).
You'll need a car. Parking is free. Biking is possible via the Gateway Trail.
