I really hate leaving negative reviews on air b and b because I understand the impact they can have. However, after checking in I went back to read the reviews more clearly and found a number of people had experienced the same issues but had left five stars. I think it’s important for travellers to have accurate information and therefor I’ve decided to write an accurate poor review. Ultimately the home was not clean. We checked out early as we were not comfortable with the level of dirt and dust everywhere. Rugs are thick with hair and dirt, the shutters and windows are full of dust and cobwebs. The carpets and walls are stained and run down. There is a damp smell. It has the potential to be great but it isn’t and hasn’t been looked after. We reported repeatedly and kept getting the same ‘we care about your feedback’ auto reply with no action. Air b and b cover refunded us. The 4th bedroom has no blind and the sofa bed is very uncomfortable. Good size, quiet location.
Really easy check-in, great facilities & exactly as described. Only downfall was that we had 8 people booked to stay, and one of the beds hadn't been made up so the place did not sleep 8. I contacted them to ask if I could be told where the bedding/mattress was etc to set the bed up myself but we came to no solid conclusion. In the end, one of our guests had to sleep the whole weekend on the sofa. This was the only negative & although the communication was there, it wasn't the most helpful & the issue wasn't resolved. But I can understand that this would've been down to cleaners/set up team as it was the pull out bed in the twin room, so just a lack of communication there. Other than that it was a wonderful stay & we would definitely stay here again in future.
A beautiful park, a busy transport hub, a well-known fashion street plus a modern and successful theatre along with the legendary Rowan’s Ten Pin Bowling Alley which was recently saved from demolition by fans of it’s cheap n’ cheerful decor and bright blue slushies, make Finsbury Park a truly great place to stay. Aside from old-school pubs and decent rents, the park is one of the area’s biggest draws, with 110 acres of open land, tennis courts, football pitches and even a boating lake, as well as regular musical performances – the likes of Bob Dylan, Pulp and the Sex Pistols have all played in Finsbury Park in the past, and since 2014 Wireless Festival has been held here every July.
You’ll find a vibrant, cosmopolitan area with a real sense of community, as well as brilliant transport links, a huge park, and the rare opportunity to find a bargain (for London, anyway) rental property in Zone 2.
Not to be confused with Finsbury Square in Moorgate, Finsbury Park sits firmly in North London, up the road from Angel and west of Stoke Newington. While these neighbouring areas have seen swathes of gentrification bringing in finance professionals and affluent couples, Finsbury Park is still the domaine of recent graduates, families, and long-established Turkish, Cypriot and Ethiopian communities. It’s also hugely popular with dedicated Arsenal fans, with the Emirates stadium on the doorstep and epic match-day traffic to boot.
Finsbury Park Station is somewhat of a travel hub, with one of London’s busiest stations outside of Zone 1. The tube station covers both the Piccadilly and Victoria lines, meaning a direct journey to Piccadilly Circus takes only 15 minutes, while the National Rail station offers trains to locations including Moorgate, Kings Cross and Welwyn Garden City. In addition, the area is served by a high number of bus routes both day and night to locations across the city.
