Nestled in the breathtaking landscape of Golden Valley, beneath Quamby Bluff, this off-grid 'slow stay' offers a harmonious blend of raw & luxe, designed for restoration and reconnection through nature immersion. Trees & wildlife become an immersive private sanctuary to unwind, re-wild and rest. Guests will enjoy private driveway access to our Tiny House, Wood Fire Sauna, Fire Bath and Creator's Cabin. With an opportunity to explore the surrounding 10 acres and its pretty paths, native trees and plantings, as well as abundant wildlife, beautiful views across Golden Valley and surrounding farmland. Wild Rest is part of our home and we really care for it. It is a pleasure to welcome guests who show care and consideration for the spaces they occupy during their stay. Host In the vision of a gentle Vision Quest - your host lives at "base camp" in a separate dwelling on the same property and is available as needed to ensure your nature immersion is memorable and wonderful.

Staying at Wild Rest was such a magical experience , we truly felt we unplugged and disconnected from our busy lives and fully soaked in the natural beauty and essence of nature. From the moment we arrived, Meeray welcomed us with her lovely presence and made us feel very much at home. The tiny home is filled with intentionality and is so beautiful. Every corner had something special for us to see or read , we could have stayed all night reading the great collection of books available! The bed was super comfortable, with beautiful linen bedsheets, and really cute hot water bags! The selection of local and fresh foods was exceptional, Meeray went truly above and beyond. The sauna and bath tub were the perfect addition on a cold winters night ! I am so happy I chose Wild Rest to celebrate my partners birthday, what a treat for him to reset, rejuvenate and refresh ! We are leaving feeling so peaceful and at ease from this slice of paradise in Tasmania !
We were blown away with the wonderful attention of the host. Meeray has thought of every little detail to make sure we had an amazing weekend getaway. From little jars with marshmallows, licorice, relishes, delicious tea and breakfast to devine linen, comfy beanbags and wonderful welcome message with surprise birthday gift, everything was done with so much love and care. Wild rest is more than just a cabin in the woods, it is a magical place to reconnect and enjoy the sensory experiences of a slower pace of life. Our stay was beyond anything we could have wished for, and without a doubt the most wonderful 'airbnb' experience we've had in a very long time! Thank you Meeray, we are forever grateful.
Was everything my lovely lady wanted for her birthday retreat. Beautifully tucked away spot where you could watch the stars from the deck or outdoor fire bath! Very comfy little home with many treats. Thanks Meeray
I wish I could give 6 stars as a review! This place is incredible, everything has been thought about so you can just stop and be in nature. I can’t wait to return to this secret spot again.
We cannot rave about Wild Rest enough! What a beautiful couple of days surrounded by nature and all it has to offer. The perfect place to unplug, unwind and unlearn "needing" to be "on." The sauna, the bath, the creators cabin and the tiny home are all spectacular. Meeray is a delightful, warm, incredibly thoughtful person and we wanted for absolutely nothing, she really has thought of everything. Some highlights were, the creators cabin, little wallaby faces peeking through the bracken fern, the knives are actually sharp, the bread knife, all of the yummy food from the bread to the extra large marshmallows that were delicious roasted outside by the fire pit, the sauna, the outdoor bath, laying in beanbags on the deck stargazing, luxurious towels and beautiful linen sheets. Refined luxury at its best! Do yourself a favour and stay at Wild Rest to explore its magic for yourself ✨️

With breathtaking Pine Lake in the Highlands to the wild North West Coast, 50mins to Launceston, historical surrounds for antique lovers, and the pristine East Coast - there is much to see and discover.
As we are wild and a bit rural, you’ll need a car for your trip here. Mobile coverage with Telstra is available but limited in patches. It is a good idea to download all you need before your adventure!
