Beautiful architecture, high ceiling, well maintained and antique pieces. The Hamilton Hoppin House is an historic house in Middletown, RI built in 1856. The oldest part of the house was designed by architect Richard Upjohn. It was built in an Italianate style in the mid-nineteenth century and it is one of the first Italianate stick-style houses to be built in the United States. The Hamilton Hoppin House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. The house was featured on an episode of Weird Travels as the Inn at Shadow Lawn - Max guest capacity: 18 guests. - 9 rooms: 6 king bedrooms and 3 queen bedrooms. - Each suite has a private bathroom attached to it. *Message us for private event rates* - Please be aware that there is a caretaker living in the basement with a separate entrance. Your privacy will not be impacted.

The Hamilton Hoppin house is just marvelous. It is beautifully decorated, spacious, and truly one of a kind. It was the perfect place to host our girls weekend, and we hope to be back!
The property was almost everything that I expected. The photos are accurate and the facility was easy to use.

You will find everything you need for your stay less than 5 min driving.
Domino's pizza is right around the corner if you're in hurry. Simple merchant coffee is a 10 min walk from us as well for a coffee and a bite. We are surrounded by many Plazas including (shaws, dry cleaners, laundromats, pharmacies, Bj's, Dunkin, Starbucks, salons, dollar tree, Aldi, stop and shop, liquor store, etc..). Everything within 5 min driving from our house.
We are also close to Ma's Donuts, Ihop and Newport Creamery if you don't want to go to Newport for breakfast.
In Newport, our favorites are Corner Cafe and cru cafe for breakfast/brunch. Giusto, Barcino, Jo's American bistro and Benjamins for casual lunch/dinner. The Mooring, Bowen's wharf and Clarke Cooke House for a fancy dinner. Mr. R for a fun experience and delicious food!
Kilwin's and Clementine's are our favorite ice cream places.
Others:
Easton's Beach, located on Memorial Boulevard at the start of the Cliff Walk, is a 3/4-mile-long surf beach with a board walk.
Come relax and play in our beautiful white sand ocean beach- surf the waves, ride our beautiful 1950's carousel, visit Save the Bay Exploration Center and Aquarium, or get married in a gorgeous beach front ceremony and celebrate in our newly refurbished ballroom.
Rosie's Beach Store carries daily rentals of beach chairs, boogie boards and umbrellas during the peak summer season. They also carry some of those items you may have forgotten.... sunscreen, towels, buckets and pails!
Seasonal public facilities include restrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, shade pavilion, playground, skate park, picnic and grill area, bike racks, first aid, carousel, an elevator and beach wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, snack bar and 2 public parking lots.
