A stylish apartment, crafted by an architect, full of design touches, art posters and natural light. Freshly renovated with the latest eco-friendly solutions, The Sunshine is a peaceful retreat with every comfort. Its strategic location, just a few steps from the centre and close to the fair district, the underground station of high-speed trains and the airport shuttle terminal, makes it ideal for exploring Bologna, discovering the region or enjoying day trips to Italy's most iconic attractions. The apartment is situated on the 1st floor (above the ground floor, with elevator) of a traditional building dating back to 1925. Conveniently located in the heart of Bologna's burgeoning district, it is just a short walk from the city centre and the high-speed train station - but don't worry about noise, because the station is 10 metres underground! It is worth noting that, thanks to the elevator, there are no steps from the street into the flat, ensuring 100% accessibility. As an architect, I undertook a complete interior redesign in 2023, aiming to preserve its vintage charm while incorporating cutting-edge, environmentally friendly solutions, including highly-insulating windows, an advanced air conditioning system, sustainable no-gas heating, and bamboo wood flooring. Furthermore, I am committed to sustainability practices, offering only non-single-use plastic containers and promoting waste recycling. The apartment features a bright living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a large corridor set up as a library, 2 double bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with a huge shower to relax in after a day spent exploring the city. The master bedroom features a 160 cm bed with a memory-foam mattress and a small desk for laptop work. The second bedroom offers a 140 cm bed with a comfortable memory-foam mattress. All rooms face the street, but thanks to the brand new soundproof glass windows, they are quiet and filled with natural light.

We stayed with friends at Beatrice’s place. It was AWESOME. Everything looked exactly as on pictures, the communication with Christian and Beatrice was easy, quick and very informative. I can only recommend these hosts and the apartment itself. I hope I will return there again :)

Hemos estado una semana en The Sunshine. El piso es precioso y tiene todo lo que puedes necesitar para sentirte como en casa. El estilo y la decoración son ideales y todos los electrodomésticos, menaje y baño impecables. No le falta detalle alguno Piso modernísimo, amplio y luminoso. La ubicación es extraordinaria para viajar en tren por Italia ya que está justo enfrente de la estación central de Bolonia y a pocos minutos del centro de la ciudad a pie. La atención de los anfitriones excelente, pendientes de nuestra estancia y con respuestas inmediatas a nuestras consultas. Un lugar para repetir sin duda.

The Sunshine is located in the emerging district of Bologna, where you can find excellent restaurants, pleasant bars and some attractions not to be missed, such as the lively market of Via Albani and the Museum for the Memory of Ustica. The city center is a 10-minute walk away; the train station and the airport monorail terminal (Marconi Express) are right in front of the building; the exhibition district 10-minutes away by bus. For those who want to ride a bike, the bike sharing station is two blocks away.
The building address is 3 VIA DE' CARRACCI, located right in front of the High-Speed Trains exit of the station. The bell bears the name FURLOTTI GUARNERI. The apartment is on the 1st floor (over ground). You find the entrance door on the left when ascending the stairs or exiting the elevator.
Arriving by TRAIN: Take the Carracci exit (High-Speed Trains) and turn right. Walk along via Carracci until you reach a large monument square. Cross the street, and number 3 will be right in front.
Arriving by PLANE: You can take a taxi (15-20 minutes depending on traffic) or the "Marconi Express" airport monorail, reaching the train station in 8 minutes. Take the Carracci exit and follow the same directions from the train station (see above).
Arriving by CAR: Park in the blue-lined areas around the building, subject to charges from Monday to Saturday, 8 AM-6 PM. Alternatively, you can park at Bologna Centrale P1/Alta Velocità parking lot for €1.50/hour or €14.00/24 hours. One of the parking exits is right in front of the building.
To reach the CITY CENTER: Several bus lines stop in Via Matteotti, just around the corner. On the opposite side of the street, you can catch the bus shuttle to Fico Eataly World.
You can download the "WeBus" app for information on city bus lines. Additionally, the "Ridemovi" app allows you to use the bike-sharing service, with parking conveniently close to the apartment.

I was born in Parma, the city of good food. I lived in Ferrara, Bologna, Bordeaux, Paris, Milan, Turin, San Francisco, Seville - and eventually chose Bologna, the city that suits me best. I graduated in architecture, but fell in love with advertising. I became a copywriter, evolved to creative consultant and at present I manage my own communication agency. In parallel, I launched an independent theatre, created a brand of bags and travelled all over the world. Despite all this, I never left architecture: I personally designed, furnished and restyled several properties, some of which are now part of the Airbnb Plus collection. And I'm very proud of it! To me, being a Host means making sense of my whole story: the perfect way to mix architecture, communication and travel - the three passions of my life.
