Upper Greenwood Lake is a small, quiet and private lake community just over an hour from New York City. Easy to get to! A serene getaway to recharge your soul, see sunrises, and be in nature. Hikes, state parks, farms, a drive-in theater, cute towns are all within 15 minutes. Or just chill on the porch swing. Feel like you’re in a sun-bright treehouse over the water! The high-speed Wifi, 55-inch TV, outdoor festoon lights and furniture, and a magnificent view all make your stay four-seasons-enjoyable. Guests will receive a code. Park at street level next to the bamboo then come down the stairs to enter the keypad on the front door. The first bedroom and bathroom are waiting for you just inside the house. The fireplace opens into the living room, which has windows around and tons of natural light. The kitchen is flanked by the living room and dining room. You will find an amazing chandelier by NY artist Saki Sonoda above the dining room table. Framed animal artwork throughout the house was drawn and created by your host, KJ. The kitchen comes fully equipped with a blender, multiple pots and pans, bowls, a crock pot, coffee maker, cooking tools. You even have sundae cups for farm stand goodies and our local ice cream place, Bellvale Creamery. The walk-in pantry has shelving for your staples. The upper patio has seating and a chiminea. Take the escher-like spiral staircase down and you are in the game room! Here you will find a working vintage pinball machine. A record player and some classics. A full set for a professional poker game. A sliding glass door that leads out to another expansive patio with a porch swing and multiple chairs for idling away time. The other side of this floor has the second bedroom we call the "Jungle Room." This side also has its own sliding glass door to get out to the patio. Outside, the steps lead down to another very large patio with more furniture and festoon lights. The patio is south-facing, so enjoy the sunrise and a full day of sunshine. Please note the following rules: - Quiet time is 11PM-7AM. - No entering the private lake unless accompanied by the property owner per lake rules and regulations. -This is a no shoes house. Please place shoes under bench after entering. -Please always use cutting boards and trivets to protect the wood kitchen countertops. PARKING The property has room to park 4 cars at street level. You must walk down stairs that have handrails to reach the front door. PETS Please consult KJ about your pet before booking. Large and undisciplined pets are not allowed. WATER We have a well which provides tap water for the house after going through a softening and filtration system, which makes it safe to drink and cook with. The spigot to the left of the faucet in the kitchen is extra filtration for taste. TOILETS This house has a septic system. Do not flush anything other than toilet paper and human waste. GARBAGE You will find the trash receptacle in the kitchen to the right of the fridge. Never leave garbage outside in their bags. (Too many critters!) To the left of the front door is a container to place bagged garbage until pickup on Monday AM. Recycling is on Tuesday, alternating bottle and cans one week and paper the next. If you are staying on tuesday please arrange with KJ to have recyclables ready before 9AM. LAKE Our Lake Association does not allow short term renters (under 30 days) to enter the private lake unless accompanied by the property owner. Ask KJ for more information. Note, there are great nearby public lakes and parks. Wawayanda State Park Lake is only 10 minutes away, offering swimming, trails, boating, picnicking, fishing, and mountain biking.
