Everything was so close! Very private, wonderful people helping to run the place. Feels so middle of no where but everything is within 5 minutes. Beautiful area as well. Highly recommend
Our stay at Springs Retreat was was perfect for a quick weekend getaway. Cabin was cozy and had everything we need, which allowed us to pack lightly. We loved all the notes and books describing the cabin and area. You feel the care and pride that went into building this little gem. Any issues were immediately addressed. Our stay was early November and the ticks were insane. To the point where we picked about 100 off our dog at cabin and surrounding trails and chose to forgo a fire our second night. Just something to be mindful of with pets and kids. Not every year will be this bad for ticks.
Bob & Donna were great hosts. They were informative and attentive. The Cabin was smaller than expected but it was cozy and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and listening to leaves raining down. The gun shots were a bit of a surprise, which leads me to the helpful notes you will discover throughout the cabin. The Owl hooting in the distance early one morning was a delight along with birds chirping and chipmunks scurrying through the woods. All this we love about the cabin. Overall, we had a good stay.
Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!! My best friend & I loved our stay here. It feels far away from the main house, beautifully tucked in the woods just enough. I wish we could’ve stayed longer. Such a cute stay.

My family and I built Springs Retreat as my first home and I moved into the cabin during the early Spring of 2002. I enjoyed the cabin as my home for several years, until it became too small to meet the needs and I moved to a more traditional home. I loved the years I spent at the cabin and my hope is always to share the joy of simplicity and solitude with guests. The beauty of the cabin is that you can feel a 'million miles from nowhere', while being 3 miles from the nearest town and able to enjoy the great food and activities offered in both Watkins Glen and Montour Falls. On the drive past the main house to the cabin, you can pick your own veggies in season and even pick up some fresh eggs from the chickens!
