Set within the peaceful countryside of the Peak District, The Old Hen Shed offers a beautiful home away from home with ample space for big celebrations and plenty of cosy corners for a romantic break away. With the array of walking and cycling routes from the doorstep, you can explore the beautiful countryside too. Once part of the village farm, this beautiful barn conversion has been lovingly renovated to include all of the home comforts you would expect, whilst retaining its rural countryside heritage and charm. The stylish interiors have been seamlessly blended with the exposed beams and items sourced from the local carpenter. Upon entering The Old Hen Shed, you are welcomed by the beautiful open-plan kitchen and dining area. The well-equipped kitchen is a spacious and homely area, equipped for even the keenest of chefs, and is the perfect place to cook up your favourite meal or spend an afternoon baking with the little ones. The kitchen boasts a Nespresso coffee machine too, so you can sit and enjoy a morning coffee in solitude, whilst the house awakens around you. The dining area is a bright and airy space, with ample space for big celebrations or intimate dinners together. Stone steps lead down into the cosy sitting room, that offers a sumptuous velvet sofa and a cosy electric wood burning stove, so you can curl up together in front of the Smart television and watch your favourite movie, or relax and read a book. The large french doors lead out to the rear garden and offer uninterrupted views of the Peak District countryside. There is also a utility room and cloakroom downstairs too. Upstairs, there are two well-appointed, stylish bedrooms, both of which enjoy an en-suite bath or shower room. The principle bedroom offers a king-size bed, and en-suite bathroom, whilst the second bedroom offers another king-size bed, that can be configured as twin beds upon request, and an en-suite shower room, making The Old Hen Shed the perfect place for a couples retreat, or a well-needed family holiday. Heading outside, there is a south-facing front patio area that has ample garden furniture, perfect for alfresco dining, or enjoying an evening tipple whilst admiring the beautiful views. To the rear of The Old Hen Shed is the lawned garden area. The rear garden is fully-enclosed and is the perfect place for the children to explore and play, whilst the grown-ups relax on the comfortable garden furniture. The Old Hen Shed guests have access to private off-road parking for up to two cars and there is also a secure bicycle storage area, for those wanting to make the most of the local cycling routes. Located in the quaint village of Taddington in the Peak District National Park, you have the wonders of Derbyshire on your doorstep. Take advantage of the bus routes to local towns such as Bakewell and Buxton, where there is an abundance of boutique shops and pretty cafes, or step out of the front door of The Old Hen Shed and head on an adventure on one of the many walking and cycling routes. The traditional village pub is only a short walk away too and serves delicious food and local ales. Additional Information: Sorry, no pets. Children and infants provide your own infant equipment. A charcoal barbecue is provided. Please take care when ascending and descending the stone steps to and from the sitting room. The bedding is non-feather. A hairdryer is provided in bedroom two. The front of the property and parking area is shared with the adjoining property, Swallow Nest. The bicycle store is shared with adjoining property, Swallows Nest. There is a garage to the side of the property, and the owners may need access to this from time to time. There is off-road parking for two cars.

The Old Hen Shed is ideally located to explore all that the Peak District and surrounding areas has to offer. There are a multitude of activities to enjoy that are suited for all ages. From the Heights of Abraham, where you can see the rolling countryside from up high, to an abundance of stately homes, all the way through to beautiful footpaths and bicycle trails.
Immerse yourself in the history of the Peak District and visit Chatsworth House, which contains over 30 rooms full of elegant interiors to explore, alongside one of Europe's most significant art collections. You can wonder around the gardens too, which are known for their historic and modern sculptures and waterworks, or get lost in the maze and Victorian rock garden. The small villages located on the Estate of Chatsworth also have plenty to offer too - from Chatsworth Farm Shop in Pilsley, the beautiful Edensor Tea Cottage in Edensor, or the infamous Devonshire Arms in Beeley.
Haddon Hall has over 900 years of history. The hall is brimming with history, with a remarkable tapestry collection, an early English furniture collection, the Elizabethan walled gardens and much more to explore, Haddon Hall will take you back in time and is a wonderful place for a family day out.
For a fun family day out, Matlock Farm Park is within driving distance and offers lots of family fun. The farm park offers the chance to feed and pet some of their animals, whilst also offering the chance to see a huge range of native and non-native animals, or you can enjoy a coffee and cake in the cafe, whilst the children make the most of the UK's largest jumping pillow and the indoor rainforest play area! For the thrill seekers amongst you, head over to Gulliver's Kingdom Resort, where you can enjoy all of the rides on offer, whilst also taking in the beautiful views of the Peak District from the top of their tallest rides.
The Peak district is also home to the incredible Monsal Trail. The trail is 8.5 miles long and is suited to a range of abilities. Walk or cycle along the entire 8.5 miles, or park in one of the many car parks that are dotted along the trail and enjoy it at your own speed. The trail offers access points that connect to additional footpaths and bridleways too, so the opportunities to see the beautiful Derbyshire countryside are endless. There are also two cafes along the route, so you can sit and recharge with a delicious slice of cake and a warm drink.
