Great place for a big or blended families. Every room having an ensuite bathroom was so nice, and the decks off the masters upstairs were lovely. Beds were very comfortable. Lots of extra linens, though no beach towels felt odd. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need, definitely one of the most well provisioned rental kitchens I have experienced. The back screened porch was where we spent 90% of our time! Beautiful view of the course, comfortable lounge area and nice big tables for meals al fresco. ON the front porch, 2 of the 3 rockers were broken. Living room furniture could have been more comfortable, small couch and the chairs weren't really made for relaxing, but I guess you don't go to Kiawah to sit inside. I would say it was a very functional space for big groups with littles ... nothing was super precious and the kids could just be themselves.
The house was spacious and had a nice layout. Sweetgrass was responsive, although they gave me an outdated code for the lockbox when I called. It was likely changed and not communicated to Sweetgrass. . Management was great. What I thought needed some attention: The interior is outdated and worn. The furnishing in the house and the bathrooms were clean, but outdated. Carpeting had stains Hinge was broken on a bathroom door. Almost every picture in the wall was crooked. There was stinky trash with bugs in the garage from the last occupant. I thought the cost was not in line with the accommodations.
The home was beautiful and spacious, more than enough space for the six of us. We loved renting bikes. I often would walk with my 85 year old father while my husband and kids rode their bikes to the beach. It was a 12 minute, beautiful walk there. The sunrise was stunning. Wake up early at least once to experience it. Took many pictures. The beach was very private. We used Island Beach Service to setup chairs and umbrellas for us every day during our vacation. Scott was absolutely lovely. He would set up chairs/umbrellas at 10 AM and pick them up by 5 PM. The property is very close to the Sanctuary where we enjoyed several delicious meals and the Freshfields Village was only 15 minutes away by car where a grocery store and many shops and restaurants were available. Loved our vacation minus a couple of maintenance issues, but would stay there again. The whole island is beautiful.
AHHHHHHH-mazing. What a perfectly divine spot to stay. The house was beautiful, clean, big kitchen. And the porches! We lived on the back screened-in porch. It over-looks the golf course but not in an annoying way - there are lots of trees in between. There is a table that seats six for dinner and a little couch and chair area. I read an entire book on that porch. The pool is just across the street and the walk to the beach is lovely. There is a little trail through the neighborhood that leads you there. You get to walk over a waterway and look at other lovely houses and then you are on the beach!
