Idyllic farming community in a beautiful, narrow valley between high mountains. There is a river flowing through the valley, and cows and sheep are grazing on the nearby farm lands. A very quiet area where you can get in touch with nature and recharge your batteries!
The location is very convenient, giving you easy access to a wide range of both beginners' and more demanding hiking trails and bicycle routes. Fancy fjord sightseeing by boat, fishing, or a swim at the beach in Hellesylt? This is also an excellent base for exploring the Geiranger fjord (which is one of Norway's most famous fjords), the Briksdalsbreen glacier, the jugend style town of Aalesund, and many, many more attractions. We highly recommend a drive along the scenic old route over the Stryn mountains to Grotli, from where you continue down a breathtakingly beautiful winding road to the Geiranger village. Here, you can drive your car onto the ferry, grab a table in the restaurant or on the sundeck and enjoy a guided tour through the Geiranger fjord and back to Hellesylt.
You may spot people jumping off the steep mountain Hellesyltkopen, right in front of the house, with a wingsuit. This is a very popular location for this extreme sport, attracting people from all over the world. Even Tom Cruise jumped off the mountain, on a motorbike (!), in the newest Mission Impossible film!
