The stay was great. It was a very clean and comfortable room in a good location. Things that were great: Union Square and Harvard are conveniently within walkable distance, as are bus and T stops. It was nice to have a washer and dryer on site, especially if one is booking for a longer stay. Other amenities include cleaning supplies, a dishwasher, a fridge with helpfully delineated spaces for food storage, etc. There were no signs of insects or rodents whatsoever, which was nice. Jianguo is helpful and instructions are/communication is very clear and representative of what's on the listing. Things to be mindful of: There is heating in the room and common space, but it activated less effectively than I would have liked, so if booking in the winter/spring, you may want to take care to bundle up in-house. If one is a student, there is no work desk/study chair in the room, but one could make do with the dresser (or the public libraries nearby) if need be. Overall excellent!

Good location. Convinient for visiting Harvard campus, shopping, and eating. Clean and cozy room. I really want to stay here next time!

I stayed two nights while I needed to be in the area for work. This was the perfect place to stay. I was able to let myself in and out as needed with no difficulty. I verified with the host ahead of time that parking would be available, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that I actually had the only vehicle in the driveway so I had no issues with getting blocked in. I was driving a small truck and it fit with no issues, so that was great! The host replied quickly whenever I communicated with him. The place seemed exactly as pictured. Everything was clearly labeled (room numbers, space in the refrigerator for each guest, etc.). The kitchen had all the conveniences I needed and more. There is one bathroom shared amongst four rooms, so on occasion I had to wait a few minutes, but never for very long. I also had all the towels I needed provided in my room. The house temperature seemed to be on the cooler side, but I was never cold (even though it was 22°F outside).

For what it is, this was a good deal and I had no complaints. The downsides are what you should expect from a rental like this: it's a small house with several bedrooms, a single bathroom, and a small kitchen, so the experience will vary a lot depending on how many others are staying. I stayed for more than one month and the common spaces were always reasonably clean, and the other guests were quiet and mostly kept to themselves. Only once or twice I had to wait more than an hour for several other people to use the bathroom, or I couldn't use the kitchen table because someone else was using it, or I was disturbed late at night by people coming and going just outside my door. I especially appreciated that the host paid attention to who was using the driveway and let the guests know who to contact in case someone was parked in. Overall I would stay here again and recommend it if you don't mind the inconvenience of sharing a small space with others.
