Stop along the way at Macquarie Lighthouse, Australia’s oldest lighthouse designed by convict architect Francis Greenway.
Bondi Beach (10 min drive):

With white sands, curling waves and sandstone cliffs, Bondi Beach is Australia’s most famous beach and a world icon. The jewel of Sydney’s laid-back beach lifestyle , Bondi has something for everyone, from swimming, surfing and sunbathing to a spectacular coastal walk and delicious places to eat.
Other things to do include the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk, a picturesque 6km trail with vantage points on sandstone clifftops to spot whales between May and November. You’ll find a vibrant event calendar of markets and festivals, with Sculpture by the Sea a popular spring attraction.
Watson Bay (500 meters):

Watsons Bay is now a lovely seaside enclave with loads of appeal, located at the tip of the South Head peninsula in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Enjoy a family picnic in a lush park, swim in a harbourside pool, dine on delicious seafood at a waterfront restaurant or hike up to a historic lighthouse.
Watsons Bay is home to the iconic seafood restaurant Doyle’s on the Beach. Enjoy fine dining on the water, while feasting on fresh fish, lobster, prawns and other ocean delicacies. Alternatively, you can grab takeaway fish ‘n’ chips from Doyle’s on the Wharf, right where the ferry docks, and then enjoy it in the nearby Robertson Park.
Indulge in a glamourous high tea at Dunbar House, a historic building overlooking pretty Robertson Park. The perfectly-positioned Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel, right on the water, has the more casual Beach Club, which serves a light menu, and provides a buzzy beer garden atmosphere and stunning harbour views.
Parsley Bay (950 meters):

Nearby Parsley Bay is an enclosed swimming area, crossed by a pretty bridge and surrounded by bushland. While the small, sandy Milk Beach is one of Sydney’s best-kept secrets.
Shark Beach (5 min drive):

Vaucluse is known for its sheltered harbour beaches. Shark Beach in Nielsen Park is popular with families, home to an enclosed swimming area, park and cafe. Divers will want to head east towards Bottle and Glass Point.

Ferry:
Getting to Watsons Bay, next to exclusive Vaucluse, is easy by public transport. A ferry from Circular Quay across sparkling Sydney Harbour takes less than 20min and is a magical experience.
