Escape to our picturesque river cottage on the wild and scenic Santa Fe River in High Springs, Florida. Located next to the springs, this is the perfect retreat for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Our family welcomes you to enjoy this peaceful hideaway where the healing that only nature brings is in abundance. As you turn down the dirt road to the river cottage leave the stress of your daily life behind and enjoy the serenity and comfort of our cottage in the trees. Our river cottage has been thoughtfully decorated and curated to create a warm and welcoming environment for you and your guests. As you enter the cottage you will notice wide plank wood floors, an open kitchen, bar, dining and living room floor plan with expansive glass sliders overlooking the spectacular Santa Fe. The screened porch extends the length of the house with ceiling fans and plenty of comfortable seating to relax and enjoy the natural scenery. For those who enjoy dominos, checkers or chess there is a custom game table on the back porch. We keep a small library of mostly literary fiction books, predominantly English and some in Spanish for guests to enjoy. There are board games and puzzles, 2 yoga mats and blocks, and some free weights. Our primary bedroom includes a queen, antique wood bed, smart TV, ample closet and drawer space with glass sliders onto the screened porch which overlooks the shoals of the Santa Fe. Our sweet and cozy front bedroom has two twin beds with forest views. There is an antique desk in this room perfect for writing postcards, journaling or creating the next best selling novel. Additionally there is a pull out queen couch in the living room that comfortably sleeps two adults. We have a pack n play available should you need one for any youngsters. The bathroom includes a vintage pedestal sink, walk in shower with bench and river rock floor with plenty of storage for toiletries. Under the house you will have fun playing ping pong, corn hole, horse shoes, and darts. There are also two tables with benches along with a Weber grill for your enjoyment. Feel free to bring your own tubes, kayaks, canoes or paddle boards and launch directly from the house. There are two river channels across from the house that are fun to explore and can bring you to the top of “Poe Rapids.” We are happy to provide recommendations for boat and tubing rentals if interested.

Our stay at Frank and Karoline’s river house was magical. The house itself is just wonderful, everything is super clean and comfortable, but it’s also in a great location right on the river and has an amazing back deck fully screened for sitting and watching the sunrise and sunset. We loved the decor which was cozy and unique as well as the many games. We played ping pong and darts and corn hole. We brought our own paddle boards and paddled down to Poe Springs. We visited many nearby springs including Ichetucknee, Gilchrist Blue and Ginnie Springs. There were good restaurants nearby in high springs, but cooking in the house was so great and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and the house had really everything you could possibly need. We definitely want to return!
I can honestly say walking into River Diva was like a dream! Nature provides the back drop -- a setting of serene beauty on the banks of the Santa Fe river. The home is thoughtfully designed to take full advantage of the river's beauty and was not only immaculately clean but also comfortable and homey. There is absolutely everything you need, from kitchen supplies/spices to bathroom toiletries (and beach towels ;). The screened in porch was one of our favorite places as was the game area with the ping pong table. The location is perfect if you want to have privacy and experience nature but not be too far away from town. We enjoyed the restaurants in High Springs and took full advantage of the proximity to the many beautiful springs. My husband also rented a mountain bike in Alachua and enjoyed the many miles of trails in San Felasco/Hammock Perserve State Park. The area is absolutely beautiful with so much to do and we can't wait to come back to Frank and Karoline's place next year!

Our home is located in a quiet enclave of homes owned by nature enthusiasts who are permanent residents. We ask that guests be respectful of our beloved neighbors (both humans and wildlife) and keep noise to acceptable levels at all times.
There is space for parking one car under the home and two cars within the front gate. There is additional parking in front of the home along the dirt street.
There are some wonderful biking opportunities from our home so if you are so inclined bring your bikes! There are options for scenic routes, mountain biking, or just cruising into downtown High Springs. The main road to our home has an extra wide sidewalk and downtown High Springs is just shy of 3 miles from our home.
