The Northumberland Country Zoo at Eshottheugh Farm is nearby, and a short drive takes you to Druridge Bay Nature Reserve with glorious sand dunes at the start of the Heritage Coast. ideally located to travel inland to Rothbury only 11 miles away, over to Hadrian’s Wall to Housesteads Roman Fort and museum, 39 miles away, and the vibrant city of Newcastle is only 24 miles. Absolutely perfect we all loved it as soon as we walked in there was 9 of us 5 adults and 4 children. A lovely welcome pack of fresh fruit, fresh eggs, flowers and wine. Ideally situated to visit Alnwick, Seahouses and Bamburgh. Could not fault the accommodation loads of room for all of us and the hot tub was the icing on the cake.
The cottage was super well equipped and looked exactly like the photos. The Christmas decorations were a great bonus. It’s great value for money and would love to return in the future.
Fantastic stay at The Stables. Highly recommended, it was immaculate and had a very luxurious feel. Hot tub was cracking, really big. Handy for trips to Bamburgh, Alnmouth close to Warkworth and Morpeth. And it couldn't really be much handier for the Zoo unless it was in one of the enclosures. We had a great day at the zoo incidentally, I'd recommend it. Friendly hosts, it felt like a real find. Thanks!
Amazing stay, the house is beautiful with all you could ever need included, even down to the washing up liquid. Keith, our host, went above and beyond to correct an issue we occurred (through no fault of his own) whilst staying which I think speaks volume on how hospitable he is. Views were great and the stargazing opportunity was fab. The farm animals being so close by was a favourite part of mine, the kids even got to feed one of the horses which was super special. Would absolutely recommend to all! Thanks again.
Wow, what a fabulous place to stay! Absolutely beautiful cottage finished to a very high standard. Extremely comfortable, clean and high quality furnishings. The cottage is well designed and very spacious. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 4 children (aged from 9 to 12) and there was plenty of communal space, plus very large bedrooms & bathrooms. Fantastic showers too! The kitchen is spacious, spotlessly clean and has everything you need for a self catering stay (and thank you so much for the delicious eggs from your chickens, and also for the wine!). Plenty of parking space for our 2 large cars, and plenty of space in the lovely hot tub too! The cottage is easy to get to, being located just off the A1 so you can easily explore Northumberland by car. We had a fab time and I would thoroughly recommend friends to stay at this fantastic cottage. Thank you for a lovely holiday!
