Very quiet and in the evening, though you have a natural alarm clock in the morning with the roosters, 😂. The place is very peaceful and the hosts are friendly and accommodating . Tigbauan is a simple and peaceful place in general. You will definitely have your reset button to all the stress from the city.

This is a guest room in the back of a family house. The hosts kindly allowed me to use their kitchen as well. In the middle of a residential neighborhood, a few blocks away from the highway, but easy to find thanks to the excellent map-based instructions from the host.

Tigbauan is a pleasant, quiet town off the same road as Iloilo, Oton, and Guimbol. There is excellent hiking and beach swimming within easy walking distance. Maureen can rent you camping gear. Adequate shopping, dining, local transportation, post office, 711, all also walkable. You can even take a bus and ferry here to Boracay and other islands. Special interest might draw you to the world-class aquatic farming institute SEAFDEC right across the street, or the organic farming project of Sol y Mar; both have tours. This is a room in a family house situation, but Maureen may give you some use of very large kitchen and laundry facilities by special arrangement. Her sister Rosella and family are always there.

It was a great experience staying at Maureen's, ate Rosella her sister was there to assist us in everything we needed. We had to do some work during our stay and we needed a super fast internet connection for that, she quickly tried to locate a computer shop that would accommodate us. Her husband even went and dropped us off because it was late in the evening. He also had to pick us up afterwards which was already very late in the night. They really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The room itself is nice and cozy. Loved the beddings and comfy bed. Also very good value for money. I really appreciated the small touches. Like the free complimentary goodies and water.
