Lipica nearby is known for it's stud farm of white horses world known as the Lipizzan, a breed of horse admired for it's elegance throughout the world.
Slightly further away is a medieval village known as Štanjel which has a castle, observatory of the area and has the historical arhitecture with narrow streets and stone masonry which was common in the old days.
