There was only one problem with this listing which is that it says no extra fee for additional people, even though there is, which means if you book for more than 1 person, your total is inaccurate. The fee you see for one person is the fee per person. Communication with Chen was very quick and easy, though we did have a small problem. I had made the reservation initially for 4 people for 2 nights, then changed it to 4 people for 1 night, but Chen thought it was 2 people for 1 night and we were short two beds upon arrival. We were worried, but Chen, his wife, and their son, quickly got two new mattresses and extra pillows and sheets and laid them on the floor for us. We were very pleased with how this situation was handled, as two of our party were happy to sleep on the floor. We loved our stay here. The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful (family spoke limited English, so it helps if you speak some Chinese. If not, you can probably still get by ok). Our evening was spent with our husbands playing music with Chen's wife (drums, guitar, singing...) and lots of good laughter. Chen then showed us how to play rummy tiles and we were up rather late just hanging out and having a good time. There isn't that much to do nearby as most points of interest were a 20min. walk (or more) away, but if you have a scooter, take taxis, or take busses, it's fine. It's also only a 20 min. walk from the train station and The Space has what looked like discount coupons for Uber. We will definitely stay here again if we go back to Taichung and highly recommend it.
