This private two roomed suite is on the second floor of a modern townhouse tucked away in a peaceful, quiet and beautiful corner of Abergavenny yet only a charming 15 minute stroll from the centre of this vibrant, friendly market town. We are on the edge of both Abergavenny and of The Brecon Beacons with train and bus stations a short walk from the house. The A465 and A40, only 3 mins drive away provide easy access to Cardiff, Bristol and beautiful Bannau Brycheiniog -The National Park. Accommodation includes: First breakfast including gluten and dairy free options. Double bedroom with en-suite shower and generous storage. Breakfast/sitting room with dining / work table, sofa bed, mini kitchen and stunning views towards the iconic Blorenge mountain.
Dee und ihr Mann Gorden sind sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Menschen. Die Unterkunft ist toll gelegen, überhaupt ist der Ort Abergavenny sehr für einen Urlaub zu empfehlen. Das Städtchen ist sympathisch und die Gegend mit ihren Bergen großartig zum Wandern geeignet. Dee achtet sehr auf die Privatsphäre ihrer Gäste und ist sehr hilfsbereit. Sie hat uns vom Bahnhof bei der Ankunft abgeholt und auch für die Abreise sehr früh hingebracht und war sehr flexibel. Die Unterkunft ist deshalb sehr empfehlenswert. Wir haben lediglich eine funktionierende Kochgelegenheit mit laufendem Wasser vermisst, aber das braucht bestimmt nicht jeder.
A relaxing & peaceful stay. Dee was welcoming, very kindly provided us with some lovely cheese & bread. Would definitely return again.
Dee was really helpful with rearranging our booking after our car broke down and we couldn't make our original stay. She was also great at giving us suggestions of places in town to check out
In Abergavenny: A rich variety of restaurants and cafes. A vibrant market indoor and outdoor most days of the week. A historic heritage to learn about and many interesting buildings to admire and visit including St Mary's Priory and The Town Hall/ Market Hall, The Castle and Museum.
Entertainment: The Borough Theatre, Baker Street Cinema. The Melville Centre holds jazz, film and poetry events among others.
There are many festivals held in Abergavenny throughout the year including the famous Food Festival, The Music Festival and the Literature Festival.
Nearby: Many beautiful hills to walk, climb and admire include, The Blorenge, Sugar Loaf Mountain, Y Skyryd, The Black Mountains.
Villages, towns and villages less than an hour away to explore include : Crickhowell, Blaenavon, Brecon, Monmouth, Hereford, Cardiff, Bristol, Swansea, Newport.
There is a free carpark in Abergavenny.
The train station is 20 mins. walk from the house.
The bus station is 10 mins. walk from the house.
The A 40 (3 mins. away and leading east to the M48, M5 ), leading west into the heart of The National Park and on to Pembrokeshire.
The A 465 (3 mins. away) leading west through the heads of the valleys to Cardiff and beyond.
The Forest of Dean is just 30mins. away by the A40
