The neighborhood is lively (but the accommodation is very quiet!): Place du Pin is very close, as well as Place Garibaldi, the Antiques district and the port. You can find restaurants and bars, supermarkets and all kinds of shops there.
Old Nice is within walking distance: its narrow streets, its shops, its points of interest (Tour Saint Francois, the castle hill, its museums, its opera, its theaters, its squares, its churches, its folklore, its seaside, and his traditional markets amongst which the famous one at "Le cours Saleya".
Continue towards Place Massena and the green corridor, go up Avenue Jean Medecin and visit its shops and/or choose to walk along the sea on the Promenade des Anglais to the Negresco, taking advantage of the many restaurants by the sea, then return by the interior streets.

It is difficult to get around and park in Nice by car, especially in summer. I recommend parking your vehicle in the port car park in the basement.
All shops are within walking distance.
For the station and the airport, prefer the tram.
For Monaco or Villefranche, take the train from Nice Thiers station.
For Saint Jean cap ferrat, take bus 15 from Port Lympia.
For Eze, Saint Paul de Vence, Menton, Italy, the car is essential.
For Antibes and Cannes, the train is possible from Thiers station, which will save you parking problems when you arrive on site.
