Nestled between two sea terraces, Yailata is believed to have featured a bay used as a harbor, evident from the discovery of numerous anchors along the seabed.
The fortress in the Yailata area, constructed at the end of the 5th to the beginning of the 6th century AD, was later dismantled. By the 9th century, a Bulgarian settlement had emerged around it. Recognizing its importance, Yailata is included in the Register of Protected Areas and Protected Areas of Bulgaria, safeguarding its archaeological and historical wealth.
