Dream big in a tiny house! Get away from it all in off grid comfort just minutes from Burnie. Disconnect to reconnect. Our tiny home was built in 2022 to overlook our farm located on Cascade Road. We lived in the space for a while and now would love to share our home and our tiny farm with you. The tiny house is powered by solar and completely off grid, but lacks no modern comforts. Deck You will enter the tiny house via the deck space which is as big as the house itself. Lock box is located next to the sliding door. Here you can bbq, sit and look over the farm, have breakfast at the kitchen bar or dine alfresco. Watch the rain with a glass of wine, gaze at the stars at night by the gas heater or have a coffee and bask in the morning sun to start your day. Lounge area As you walk in you are in the lounge space. Here you will find the sofa, tv, wood heater and the nifty extending bench top to expand your workspace. Kitchen Our tiny home is equipped with a 2 burner gas stove with gas kettle, air fryer oven, fridge, large sink, cooking essentials, tea, coffee and milk. The kitchen window opens up onto the deck to be used as a breakfast bar/servery. Bathroom / Laundry The bathroom area features a full size shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided, large vanity and mirror, hairdryer, full size composting toilet and Miele washing machine. Loft bedroom The queen size bed is located at the top of the stairs. Loft area is not full height so bare in mind for accessibility. Fresh linen and towels are provided at the beginning of your stay. Off grid living Whilst we are sure you will agree with us that you wouldn’t even know you were staying in an off grid home, we would like to make you aware that the following features are in our tiny. house. * Composting Toilet * Solar Power * Tank Water Tiny Farm Our farm is just for fun. We do not use our animals for the production of meat. We do collect eggs, milk, wool and honey for our private consumption. Some of the animals you may see are. *Dexter Cows *Miniature Goats *Sheep *Hens *Bees We provide some pellets to feed the goats. Please don’t feed them anything other than the food provided as it might make them unwell. Some things to consider We love our space and property but would like to let you know the following as we understand it’s not for everyone. The composting toilet. The toilet is a fully functional and well maintained composting toilet. It doesn’t smell and looks and feels exactly like a normal toilet but it doesn’t flush. You can see into the drum if it is getting towards full. You must use the sawdust provided when you do a number 2. Please close the lid when you are finished. Please ask as more if you are interested or cautious, we love talking about it :) The bees We have 2 very busy bee hives on the property as you drive in. If you don’t go near them the chances of being stung are very low, even if you go near them it’s still very unlikely but we would like you to be aware if you are allergic. We suggest you look from afar. If you would like to see them up close please let us know and we might be able to arrange a viewing subject to season and weather. The railway line or more notably the train The tiny house is situated 15m from a operational railway line. There are no more than 2 trains a day. One passes around 9.30 am and the other at 9 pm. It is very loud and it vibrates the house. We love it and think it's fun to watch from inside and out (the drivers will wave to you if they see you) and it only lasts a few minutes. The stairs The stairs to the loft bedroom are steep and need to be given a bit of respect. Please use carefully and make sure you use the handrails when going up and down. Make sure you can see at night and make your way up and down slowly. If you are not able to use the stairs our house may not be the stay for you unfortunately. We want to be all inclusive but due to space restrictions and the nature of the design it can’t meet all need so we apologise for that.
Tash and Thomas were excellent hosts who were polite, friendly and went the extra mile to make sure we felt right at home! The property had everything we needed to feel like we were both off-grid while being close enough to Burnie that nothing was too far away. Thomas gave great recommendations on where to eat and drink while we helped to feed the goats. Can’t wait to come back and visit when we are next in town!
Just a short drive from central Burnie, a charming accommodation in a quiet, peaceful spot with beautiful views to wake up to and at dusk. The mini home had everything we needed to be self-sufficient during our stay. Our hosts also gave us some useful tips for places to visit in the area. I really enjoyed my stay here.
As someone who loves unique and cozy accommodations, our stay at Natasha's tiny home was absolutely delightful. The description and photos provided were accurate, and the space exceeded my expectations in terms of functionality and comfort. We had a wonderful weekend and would definitely book again.
Situated on peaceful and scenic hobby farm. The human neighbours are far from view so you feel private. The property is down a long internal driveway so there is very little traffic noise. You do share the space with some farm animals that can make noise from time to time but we think that’s part of the experience. You
