Hi, my name is Lindsey and I have lived in Luxembourg most of my life, although I am British by birth. I live in an old farm house that is (slowly!) being renovated and in the heart of a typical Luxembourgish farming village within the beautiful area known as Little Switzerland, just off the Muellerthall Hiking Trail. I love being outside and exploring the woods and finding out more about local history while visiting castles and museums. Equally, on a cold evening, you are likely to find me lost in a book in front of the wood stove. I am really looking forward to welcoming many of you in my - still somewhat tatty - but friendly home! We have books galore and also painting material, and plenty of toys for the little ones! Obviously, you are very welcome to just sit in front of the wood-burning stove in the lounge and watch any UK Freeview programmes you fancy. A Wii is also available, so if it is raining, you can spend the afternoon on Wii Fit instead! Basically, while you are staying with us, please do feel free to treat the home as you would your own. Pets I am quite happy to invite furry friends into the house, but do be aware that we have resident cats, so before bringing your four-legged visitors with you, please do check with me that they are cat friendly and house-trained! Location Haller itself is situated on the edge of the Muellerthall Trail and is superb hiking and exploring countryside. Mounting biking too is perfect in this area. Haller itself is a small village, with under 400 inhabitants, so very quiet. While there is a renowned restaurant in the village and easy bus connections to Luxembourg town (35 mins), Echternach (25 mins) and Ettelbruck (25 mins), there are no shops in the village itself. The closest supermarket/chemist/etc are located in Larochette, 10 minutes away by bus or car. Beaufort also has a chemist and supermarket, as well as an ice rink during the winter and a an open air swimming pool during the summer. Arrival and departure If you would like to be collected and dropped of at the airport, I am quite happy to come to an arrangement with you for a small fee to cover my costs. Arrival and departure can be as flexible as bookings allow, since I am home most of the time. Breakfast A basic breakfast can be provided for a small additional fee if requested in advance. All in all, we want you to be able to explore the surrounding area while staying with a local, integrated and friendly family environment ... us!
