Your own private home away from home, located in a peaceful neighborhood minutes from the 99 and I-5 freeway, BFL airport, and downtown Bakersfield. Your private guest suite is attached to a newly constructed home and is complete with your own entrance separate from the main house. You’ll enjoy the kitchenette with many essentials and coffee too! Living room has a TV and a couch that pulls out into a queen size bed. Bedroom has a queen bed and walk-in closet. Full bathroom with shower. Newly constructed home in Gossamer Grove with an attached guest suite. The guest suite includes a kitchenette with granite countertops, a convection microwave, two-burner hot plate, fridge/freezer, garbage disposal, dining and cookware too! There is a dedicated dining area which can also be used as a workstation. Living room has a televisionwith a Roku set up to stream your favorite apps and a couch with queen size pull out bed (extra bedding and pillows provided). The bedroom contains a queen bed and walk in closet. There is one bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink, plenty of towels, and extra amenities - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, makeup towelettes, hair dryer, clothes steamer.

The place was absolutely beautiful and everything was so clean and organized! Terese also had appliances and toiletries out for us as well which was so convenient. Check in/check out was also very easy. I would definitely recommend staying here!
Terese’s place is a hidden gem in Bakersfield. It’s in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. The home is beautiful.. The guest wing where I stayed was perfect for my stay. It was cosy, clean and Terese had it prepared for a guest. It’s a comfortable, welcoming home away from home. Terese was very responsive and very attentive to my needs. She is very kind. I am a travel nurse and I am actually moving back to Terese’s place. I am staying the entire period of my nursing contract. Hey travel nurses, Terese’s place is the place to be in Bakersfield.
We are so thankful for accommodations. It was 20 minutes travel to racetrack. The home is super clean and neighborhood is quiet and secure. Terese thank you again for accommodating us. Aloha
Shafter was exactly as described and pictured. Felt like home and was relaxing after a long day. Hostess was very communicative and helpful.
The same opinion as the week before :) Very beautiful place to stay, there was everything we needed. Terese was a great host, she responded very quickly to my every question and was very helpful and kind. She help mi a little bit with my muscle injury as well (left some medicine). The place was quiet and nice, supermarket was just few minutes away. If only we would back to Shafter again, we would book this place without any doubts. Highly recommended!

I grew up in San Juan Capistrano, California. I finished law school in the area, then spent 10 years working and living in Los Angeles. I’ve been in Bakersfield since 2019 — moved for work and ended up loving the quieter lifestyle so much that I’ve made it home. I met my husband here and we currently have two homes in the area. We list the guest suite attached to one home, with the main house occupied by my mother or visiting family.
