Lovely spot for a weekend to disconnect and get out in nature. Located near great walks and the wineries. Our dogs had a wonderful time away too.

Beautiful spot next to the river 30mins from Mudgee. Peaceful and all the facilities needed for a weekend stay. We loved our stay here and look forward to coming back some day!

Our stay at River Cottage was idyllic. The location secluded, stunning and peaceful. It overlooks a beautiful river in which we floated gently downstream, surrounded by incredible rock formations. The cottage was lovingly hand built and speaks to the heritage of the original one that stood there. We were pleased to find that hidden away at the back was a bathroom, complete with a full length wrought iron bathtub and bath salts provided. (No need to use the old outback dunny that still stands nearby!) Hiking along the river in search of Brett Whiteley rock paintings was fun - we spotted an enormous goanna and more amazing rock formations. But our favourite part was sitting on the porch as the sun set. Listening to the array of birds, spotting Wallabies with cute black faces. It was a private piece of heaven. But not so secluded as to miss out on the great lunches, wine tastings, and the heritage mining towns we indulged in during the day. We will def. go back there!

This was our second stay, and we will definitely re book. The wildlife was abundant, it was tranquil and exactly what we needed. Thank you for having us!
