Martha's Harbour, nestled along Cornwall's picturesque coastline, combines a traditional miner's cottage charm with modern amenities and comforts. Retreat to the living area and bedrooms, providing peace after a day's exploration. Prepare meals using local produce whilst socialising with fellow guests in the open plan kitchen. Enjoy the secluded walled garden, walk the dog along the coast path to the breathtaking Trebarwith Strand or to explore the mystical Tintagel and it's legendary castle.
We had a lovely stay at Martha’s Harbour - 2 adults, a baby and a toddler. The house is bigger than in the photos, lovely and light and airy. Bedrooms are incredibly spacious, as is the living area. Kitchen is fantastic and would cater easily to 6 adults. The house is a great base to explore lots of places in North Cornwall. The housekeeper Ruth is also so lovely and really helpful. Overall, a really wonderful stay and we’d love to come back again!
A really beautiful home, so comfortable and homely but beautifully styled and exactly our taste. Really gorgeous layout with plenty of space and light, seating to relax and a brilliant kitchen for socialising. We didn’t want for anything, perfect warm room for wet sandy dogs and a gorgeous garden to soak up the sun in and listen to the birds. Particularly loved being in such a quiet hamlet but within easy walking distance of the sea, coastal path and a pub! We did not want to leave
Martha's Harbour really was perfect for us. Lovely and homely but smart too. It was bigger inside than we were expecting from the photos and worked very well for the 5/6 of us. We had a bit of flu while there so didn't do as much walking as we would have liked but the house was a lovely spot to recuperate and rest. South West Coast Path is very close and we enjoyed the Port William pub.
What a fantastic gem of a place. Spotlessly clean with everything you could wish for in a kitchen. The most comfy bed and fluffy towels, you couldn't ask for more. There are lovely walks from the property and it's only 5 mins from Tintagel. The garden is secluded, perfect to sit out with that early morning coffee to start the day. Dog friendly too which is always a bonus. We really couldn't fault it and my husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Louise.
Martha's harbour is nestled in a picturesque and peaceful hamlet, close to the cliff path with spectacular coastal views. Walking distance (steep) to the local dog-friendly beach, Trebarwith Strand. On silent starry nights you can hear the waves crashing on the local beach from Martha's Harbour.
Martha's Harbour is very near to a working farm which is glorious in all seasons, including hearing the lambs in springtime and also has a holiday vibe with families all round coming for surfing and coastal activities.
An active village hall at the end of the garden that hosts many events and clubs such as yoga, talks, cake sales and fundraising/social events particularly in higher seasons.
Level road or coast path walk to Tintagel shops for pasties, souvenirs, restaurants pubs and Tintagel Castle, steeped in world-famous mystical King Arthur legend.
Within a short drive there is Port Isaac, made famous by Doc Martin, a quaint fishing village, Boscastle with it's harbour, restaurants, cafes and wonderful Boscastle Farm Shop.
Padstow and Wadebridge are a short drive away and the Camel Estuary with the popular Camel Trail to explore by bike or on foot. There are many sea safaris and nature or fishing cruises operating from Padstow, which also provides access easily to Rock, a very upmarket hangout with acclaimed restaurants.
Polzeath is a short drive down the coast and is a world class 'cool' beach with a real surfer scene as well as hip restaurants and boutique shops.
Bodmin moor is close for hiking and pubs, horse riding and also further afield the Devon border with all it has to offer. Explore the coast further south and you find the renowned busy town of Newquay, which has many activities as well as the world famous Watergate Bay. St Ives very popular and is further down the coast with it's art scene and bustly narrow streets, shops and eateries.
Truro the cathedral city is accessible for a day trip and Exeter.
Transport links are by air to Newquay Airport, train to Bodmin Parkway or Exeter from London Paddington. There is much to do from Martha's Harbour within walking distance but a car is advised for exploring the wonderful county of Cornwall.
