Amba Kola was one of the absolute highlights of my entire trip in Sri Lanka. The beautiful, spotless, spacious room, the outdoor shower, the exquisite food, the hospitality, the comfort, the surrounding nature - it was truly a magical experience and I can highly recommend Amba Kola to anyone traveling in Sri Lanka. I was traveling alone, and Janek and his mother made me feel right at home and took such good care of me. I had initially planned to stay just 1 night, do the safari the next morning and then leave. But I fell in love with the place and ended up staying 3 nights! Janek and his mother are outstanding hosts, and Janek's mother's cooking is incredible - she made the best food I had in Sri Lanka by far. I also did her cooking class which was so much fun (and INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS!). Their approach to sustainability is also something I hadn't seen in Sri Lanka before. They don't use any plastic bottles or straws, and they even have their own veggie and herb garden.

Staying at Amba Kola was such a nice experience! We were warmly welcomed and felt right away home. The whole family is super helpful and very kind. The room with the great outdoor bathroom was very large, nicely furnished and clean. It was also very quiet. One of the best rooms we had in Sri Lanka! It's a shame we didn't have time for the cooking class as the food was exceptionally good and incredibly delicious. We were given great tips for the surrounding area and the whole country without being asked. Amba Kola is the perfect starting point for the Udawalawe National Park. Safaris are offered there! Highly recommended. Many thanks for everything!

Diese Unterkunft ist einfach magisch, einen besseren Aufenthalt kann man sich garnicht vorstellen. Yanick und seine Familie machten den Aufenthalt unvergesslich. Die tour in den Nationalpark war ein Traum und Yanick zeigte uns Orte die nicht jeder Tourist zu sehen bekommt, es war traumhaft! Swarna ist mit Abstand die beste Köchin in Sri Lanka es wurde uns jeden Tag ein Festmahl bereitet. Der Fisch wurde immer frisch gekauft und alles andere wurde im Hauseigene Garten angebaut und verkocht. Wir hatten unsere Flitterwochen in Sri Lanka und Yanick und seine Familie überraschten uns mit einem Kuchen und Feuerwerk. Wir waren 1 Monat quer durch Sri Lanka unterwegs, aber Amba Kola war mit Abstand die beste Unterkunft wo wir je waren! Man fühlte sich wie zu Hause. ich kann die Unterkunft (Zuhause) nur mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfehlen und kann es nur jedem empfehlen sich dort ein paar Tage aufzuhalten, da dir wirklich unvergessliche Momente geschenkt werden! Danke an Amba Kola!!
