This unique, centrally located 500 sq ft ground-floor, 1.5 story apartment is in an ideal location to explore Rosendale and the surrounding areas. Located in a 1890s Brownstone, the Shack is a comfortable refurbished studio with hand hewn beams, brick walls and a wood burning stove. Sleep in a queen Murphy bed (pulls down) and prepare food in the kitchenette. Keep in mind nobody above you and the town shuts down at 10 PM so you have a decent amount of peace and quiet. Note: We do not accept guests with no previous reviews. The space is a wood frame structure attached to a brick brownstone. It is a studio with a Murphy bed which pulls down at night. During the day, you have the option to stow it for more room. There are many windows to look out on a courtyard, but it does not have a view. Floors are semi-finished cement. Kitchenette has a mini-fridge and small stove. It is not large enough to prepare a Thanksgiving meal, but for a couple it should be fine. There is no oven or dishwasher. Several restaurants are nearby. The attraction of this apartment is as a landing pad to explore the town and area or as a cozy hideaway as a couple. The wood burning stove at the foot of the bed will give this place unbeatable romantic appeal. Firewood is available from Stewarts. There is also baseboard heating, FYI. Linens are provided. This is a comfortable, unique place. Do not book us if you want a sterile hotel experience. The price is low not because this is a bad value but because we want to keep it accessible for younger couples. Bikes rentals are available up the street. Hiking is available across the parking lot and rail trail is nearby.
