This place was even better than the pictures. Very spacious, VERY clean and up to date. When our family arrived we felt right at home. Communication was excellent as well. I don’t have any complaints at all. This was a great stay my family and I would definitely stay here again!
It was my first time on South Shore side of Chicago and the location of this home is located very closely to the beaches. The place was very clean, and beautiful in the inside just like the pictures. Neighborhood can get a bit noisy in the mornings but it’s not bad at all! everyone in the area (neighbors) are always greeting you and super nice!! I enjoyed my stay here with my friends, I recommend it!
Please know that this space is located within the metropolitian city...and you may see busy city things and people!
Steeped in rich history, South Shore has been called home to titans of industry like Charles R. Walgreen--the founder of Walgreens, both the famous-- Suze Orman, and the infamous --Johnny Torrio--the Italian Mobster and Mentor to Al Capone, as well as world-renowned artists and musicians, Bo Diddly and Ye (Kanya West), Sports Greats - Marv Levy, Football Hall of Famer, General Thomas Patrick Gerrity-- a military hero, Pulitzer Prize Winning Writer David Mamet as well as the 44th First Lady of the United States--Mrs. Michelle Obama. It's no wonder that South Shore is a Cultural Oasis!
With quick access to 71st Beach, South Shore Country Club (Golf), Rainbow Beach, the University of Chicago, LaRabida Children's Research Hospital, Lake Shore Drive, Jackson Park, The Museum of Science, and Metra Rail access with a direct line to Downtown Chicago, you're weekend, weeklong or extended stay at Ely's Landing can be filled with a different adventure every single day.

The neighborhood is home to many families, singles, and is cross section of diversity with many cultures. The area is fairly quiet, but you may hear various city sounds at times.
Though we always feel safe and are comfortable in the neighborhood, please be vigilant about your surroundings. As with any large city there may be areas of blight in the neighborhood, much like any bustling city. So please be mindful of that before booking.
One reason Chicago is called the Windy City is because getting around is a breeze. You'll have your choice of public transportation with Metra Rail, CTA bus lines, Uber, and Lyft.
Don't want to drive? No problem. There's a train station very close by. The South Shore Line is a commuter rail line operating between Millennium Station in Chicago and the South Bend International Airport in Indiana.
But wait...There's more......
South Shore community area has five stations along the South Chicago Branch of the Metra Electric District. In South Shore, the South Chicago Branch runs eastward along East 71st Street making stops at Stony Island, Bryn Mawr, and South Shore stations before going southeast along South Exchange Avenue making stops at Windsor Park and Cheltenham stations. In addition, the 75th Street station is on the Greater Grand Crossing side of the border between that area and South Shore.
Hope to see you soon!
