Enjoy the sounds of nature when you stay in this unique place.
Peter is a fantastic host, he was accommodating, gave advice on the local area and is extremely friendly. We loved our stay here and felt right at home. We would definitely go back, even with the 3 1/2 hour drive! Thank you for everything Peter, you made our stay very memorable!
Really lovely location to camp and nice cafe on site. There is a comfy room indoors where you could sit and socialise with other campers once the cafe is shut which is welcome if it’s a bit chilly outside. Bedding and towels were provided for the shower block. Bring wellies as the walk down to the tent area. Ground was a bit squidgy after rain this week. Tents were spaced well apart so plenty of privacy.
we had an amazing stay in one of the glamping tents. Views were amazing and the bed was so comfy it was like been at home. Peter and his wife were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be returning back. A brilliant place to stay and chill out.
Gorgeous surroundings, amazing views, lovely tent & fabulous cafe. Owners responsive to emails, accommodating, helpful & friendly. Just be aware there are no pubs in easy walking distance so if that’s what you’re after be prepared to pay for taxis that have to come from a fair distance away so they’re not cheap. Kitchen facilities, cutlery, glassware, log burner etc are not in the tent, they’re in a lovely space that’s open all night. Shower & toilet facilities were really lovely & towels are provided. We had a fantastic stay & can’t wait to visit again when the event space is finished!
Back O’Th’ Hill Farm is located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, in the centre of the Bolton Abbey and Devonshire Estate, only 10 minutes from the Priory and a short walk from the Valley Of Desolation which has a beautiful waterfall. The location at the heart of a historic working estate does mean that well behaved dogs are welcome, but please be advised that the Estate’s moorland – other than some limited bridleways on the west moor above Embsay – have a specific exclusion for dogs, including on leads. This is due to the moors’ status as an SSSI and SPA. Accordingly, we ask our well behaved dog owners/walkers to respect this, especially for the waterfall area. If you have a dog and would like to visit the waterfall, we ask that you make safe arrangements to keep your dog with us by prior arrangement. Thank you.
