From the time I arrived Elsa made me feel like part of her family. She's a great cook, providing healthy and tasty meals every time, and I enjoyed communal mealtime with other guests and sharing travel ideas. The home is always super clean, the washing machine always on the go and Elsa always working, despite also caring for her own extended family and sweet cat Kira. Wonderful artwork by her talented husband, and lots of greenery, even a rooftop with great views. Comfortable rooms with excellent beds and pillows and plenty of storage, and the area is very peaceful at night for a good nights sleep. Safe to walk around and Elsa makes great suggestions of what to see and do and where to eat. I will miss this home and the people I met there. Don't hesitate to book a room at Elsa's place!

I had a wonderful stay with Elsa and her daughter. The family makes you feel right at home and goes above and beyond to help you. The reviews are true about Elsa's wonderful home cooked food and I feel lucky to have experienced the hospitality of her family. These are unforgettable memories and the family makes all the difference in your stay. The location is perfectly central, a short walking distance from delicious cafes and restaurants. It is accessible and just a couple minutes from the main road. This is truly a gem of a home stay and I hope you also get to experience Guatemala with this beautiful family!

Believe the hype - this is the real deal. Honestly probably the best Airbnb experience I've ever had. Maria and Manu make you feel so at home and part fo the family - and the 3x home cooked meals are delicious! (it's really nice to have some healthy, filling food after you've travelling for a while). We were so lucky to get this room for a week - there was another guest who had booked it out for a few solid months, and I can totally see why its usually fully booked. I felt quite emotional to leave as I got to know Maria really well in those few short days! The location is on the outskirts of the central part of town - but Antigua is so small (less than 30 mins walk end to end) that its never a problem - plus there's plenty of tuktuks if you don't want to walk. It was nice having a quiet place to return to and sleep properly, and only a 5min walk from great cafes, bars, restaurants. The roof has an incredible view over Antigua and on a clear day you can see the smoke from Fuego!

Elsa was incredibly kind, attentive and helpful. The rooftop has an amazing view and the house is located away from the noise of the main plaza. Meals are served on weekdays only, not weekends. Elsa is a great cook and pays attention to your dietary needs. I definitely recommend if staying in Antigua!

María and her family are the epitome of Guatemalan hospitality. Maria is a professional host, language teacher, mom/aunt/grandma, and just a warm wonderful person you’ll love being around and getting to know. Her husband is a gifted artist and wonderful person as well. The room was one of 2 or 3 guest rooms in the house. Very clean. Super comfortable mattress! Didn’t get too hot even in peak heat. Beautiful rooftop area with 360 views of the mountains and skyline (was great to sit up there and study). I went down a week ahead of my spouse to take some Spanish lessons, and Maria made me feel like family. It may have been a little tight in the bedroom and overall in the house for 2 people traveling together, but I bet Maria would still make it work! She cooks amazing food, and leaves it up to you if you wanna eat there or not. No pressure either way. Best home stay in Guatemala! Underpriced IMO :) Thanks Maria and Miguel!!! Hope to see you again!
