Workation in Japan? Want to avoid too busy area but still want to visit both central Tokyo and nature? This house might provide great comfort. The house is located within 7 minutes' walk from JR Hino station, where you can reach Shinjuku, a hub of central Tokyo in 30 minutes. It is also within 30 minutes to Mt. Takao, where you can enjoy great nature and hiking. Dedicated workspace, spacious living room and kitchen, quiet and convenient neighborhood, parking lot.
Mei is very responsive and helpful. The place feels like home and we had a good stay. It is extremely clean and tidy. The location is good in that it is situated in a tranquil residential area (although it may however be better to take a taxi if you return to the place at night or travelling with elderly parents). Overall, it was a superb experience staying at Mei's place!
We had a wonderful time in this lovely house! The hosts were very welcoming and responsive, always ready to help with any questions. The house was clean, cozy, and fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. It’s very convenient that it’s located close to the station, making getting around the city easy and convenient. Highly recommend this house for a stay, and we hope to return again in the future!
Maison très propre, très confortable, mais bruyant a cause de l'autoroute. Vue incroyable sur le quartier de la gare d'Hino.
Very clean and spacious. Mei was quick to respond and answered all of my questions. Would definitely book again when I am in the area next time.
Hino is a hometown of Shinsen-gumi, a group of last Samurai who fought through the era of turmoil to the end. Check out "Hino Shinsengumi Festival" for unique local events and places to visit.
I recommend trying high quality sushi at "Hino sushi", the local famous authentic sushi place. There are lots of nice restaurants and different kinds of stores you would enjoy.
Tell me your family's needs and I might be able to provide a suggestion for you.
Tokyo Tama Zoological Park
The park is a fence-free facility where animals are kept in as natural as possible. The park is home to 37,000 mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians of about 370 species, and is known for being the first place in Japan to breed koalas. It was also the first facility in Japan to offer the "Lion Bus," in which people enter cages to see animals. Recently, the orangutan skywalk has been gaining popularity. The Insectarium, where butterflies from around the world dance, is also popular.
National Showa Memorial Park
Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of seasonal flowers, barbecues, bicycling, boating, and in summer, one of the largest swimming pools in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
From airport (Haneda/Narita) to the property, use train to JR Tachikawa station. From Tachikawa station, take a taxi (~1500 yen) to the property. If you don't have much luggage, you can also take local Chuo-line (few dollars) to Hino station and walk.
From Narita airport, take Narita express to Shinjuku station (about 1 hour, ~3000 yen) then take express train such as "Kaiji","Azusa", "Hachioji" or "Oume" to Tachikawa station (About 20 minutes, ~1500 yen).
If you have many luggage and family, taking airport taxi to the property might be easier and reasonable. From Haneda, it is about 25,000 yen. From Narita, about 45,000 yen. Refer to "Airport Taxi Japan" or "Hino taxi ", for example.
