After a busy day, kick off your walking shoes in the hallway and head into the homely lounge to unwind weary walking muscles on the comfy sofa and share stories of the day’s adventures. Those who love to cook will not be disappointed with the open-plan kitchen/diner which boasts plenty of space to rustle up a hearty feast and make special family memories seated around the rustic dining table. When bedtime calls, climb the cottage staircase to the king-size or bunk bedroom on the first floor, or let the lovely views of the abbey, mill and River Teifi in the twin bedroom on the second floor lull you into a peaceful slumber before tomorrow’s adventure. Enjoy the distant sounds of the river as you dine alfresco long into the evening in the quaint enclosed courtyard. The riverside village of St Dogmaels is nestled at the very beginning (or very end) of the magnificent Pembrokeshire Coast Path and boasts views across the estuary of the River Teifi. Steeped in history, grab some tasty local produce from St Dogmaels weekly market or join the circular walk from St Dogmaels Abbey less than half a mile away through the countryside to soak up Pembrokeshire’s true beauty and some special historical sites along the way. Poppit Sands is just over 2 miles west of the village at the mouth of the Teifi estuary and offers an impressive dune landscape to explore and opportunities for swimming and a variety of water sports.
