We were a family group meeting from opposite ends of the north island and we absolutely loved this place! The decor is lovely - very tasteful and made us feel comfortable and at home, we really appreciated the beautiful styling. There are lots of thoughtful touches like beach towels, games, hair dryer, generous and good quality shower gel and shampoo/conditioner, a well equipped kitchen with basics such as oils, baking paper, foil, herbs etc, an outdoor shower for after beach rinse off. We asked to use the fabulous pizza oven - you can gather wood (there are pinecones around the district (lots at Opotuere beach) and New World Whangamatā sells kindling). A nice lawn for kids to have fun on. Felicity and Ben were super lovely and quick to answer any queries too. The neighborhood has a relaxed and friendly vibe - tennis courts and basketball hoop directly across the road too. Lots of gorgeous beaches and walks everywhere. We hope we can come back to stay-this place ticked all our boxes.

The Whiri Whare is immaculate, beautifuly and simply decorated, which made our stay so relaxing and peaceful. Everything you could possibly need has been catered for, great communication from host and location to beach, will definitely stay again, thank you Felicity and Ben

One the best places we’ve stayed at! Great for kids as the outside area is fully fenced and offers a lot of space as well as a shady deck. The place is even more amazing in person, the photos don’t do it justice. Modern with everything you could possibly need. Wonderful beach and a nice and quiet location. I would much prefer to stay in Whiritoa and then travel to Whangamatā for the busyness, shopping and/or cafes, it is not far away. 10/10 - you must book this lovely home 🩷with the best and most accommodating hosts, thank you so much.

What a special place you allowed us to share, Thank you. So close to the beach, a home away from home. Everything was crisp, clean and felt cosy. We will be booking again.
