Creaky by name but not by nature, this generous and stylish detached cottage sits in a stunning rural location. With flexible accommodation for up to twelve guests, the cottage is perfect for gathering friends or family together. Creaky Cottage is a stunning holiday cottage, located in the hamlet of Chebbard and close to the quaint and attractive villages of Cheselbourne, Melcombe Bingham, Ansty and Dewlish. Creaky Cottage sleeps eight guests, but for parties of up to 12 , guests can be split between Creaky Cottage, Piddle and Puddle Cottage, all situated next door to each other. These properties make the ideal holiday homes for families, or groups of friends, with plenty of space for everyone to spend time together, as well as privately. The cottages are wonderfully styled with high quality and tasteful furnishings, comfortable beds with luxurious cotton bedding, and Hungarian goose down duvets and pillows for a further touch of luxury. On the ground floor of Creaky Cottage is an attractive sitting room with a wood burning stove, leading through to a family room with a second wood burning stove and Smart television. The property has a generous open-plan kitchen with Aga, and dining room seating 12 guests with french doors that lead out to the wrap-around stone terrace and wonderful surrounding garden. The property sits in an idyllic rural location surrounded by an extensive well-maintained garden which includes large lawned areas and mature shrubs and trees. There is a useful entrance porch and boot room, a utility/laundry room, and a ground floor bathroom. On the first floor are four well-appointed bedrooms, sleeping eight guests all with views over the beautiful garden and landscape, along with two generous walk-in shower rooms. Next door to Creaky Cottage, you will find Piddle & Puddle Cottage, two semi-detached cottages adjoined with through doors internally, for those wishing to accommodate a further four guests. Both Piddle & Puddle boast tasteful furnishings, wood burning stoves, open-plan living, luxurious bedrooms, and roll-top baths. The Chebbard Farm Cottages are ideally placed for countryside walks, and with numerous quaint villages within a short drive, there is plenty to explore within the area. The towns of Dorchester, Blandford, Sherborne, Shaftesbury, Wareham and Wimborne are all within easy reach. The glorious Jurassic Coast, including famous Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door is just a short drive away, making the property perfectly situated for enjoying all of the delights of Dorset. Additional Information: Infants and children are welcome. high chairs and a travel cot are available upon request (please provide your own cot linen). Three well-behaved dogs are welcome (additional charge). Please note this property does not have an enclosed garden - please keep dogs on leads. Creaky Cottage accommodates eight guests and a further four can be accommodated in Piddle & Puddle Cottage next door to Creaky Cottage. Please note, no dogs are permitted in Puddle Cottage. A 5 minute drive away is the village of Cheselbourne, which then leads on to Melcombe Bingham and Ansty, where you can purchase your provisions at the Brewery Farm Shop, selling meat, fruit and vegetables, newspapers etc. A post office is also open here on weekday mornings.
Opposite the farm shop is the welcoming village pub, The Fox Inn, serving excellent food. Other good local pubs include The Hambro Arms in the beautiful village of Milton Abbas, 15 minutes' drive away; The Brace of Pheasants at Plush, approx 20 minutes' drive away; The River Arms at Cheselbourne, 3 minutes' drive away, and The Thimble Inn at Piddlehinton.
Just a 30 minute drive from Chebbard, you will find the popular market town of Sherborne, well-situated and with easy access to all of Dorset and Somerset. There are numerous attractions within the area, just a short drive away such as Sherborne Castle and Gardens, Sherborne Old Castle, & Minterne Gardens.
Cerne Abbas is a charming and quaint village that is world renowned for the The Cerne Abbas Giant. , a 180 ft high ancient chalk figure carved out into the steep sloping hillside above the village. There are three popular pubs including The New Inn, which is known for it's first class service and excellent food.
Milton Abbas is a charming, thatched village with a post office, farm shop and the beautiful 15th Century Milton Abbey. For a family friendly pub serving gourmet meals, visit The Hambro Arms.
There are an abundance of activities on offer locally and it's only 20 miles from the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site where you will find some breath-taking scenery, beautiful beaches and fantastic walks.
