Restaurant On The Property: Our intimate Tranquila Vista al Mar Restaurant boasts beautiful ocean views with an open, comfortable layout, including casual lounge areas. Our professional chef offers delicious, fresh, local Costa Rican cuisine with a flexible schedule that can accommodate our guests’ needs. Currently, we are offering dinner and cocktails. Speak with the host about menus, reservations, and special requests. Playa Corozalito is a small beach approximately 768 m long on the southern Nicoya Peninsula, Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Rocky outcrops border both ends of the beach, with an estuary on the south end that floods during the rainy season. Playa Corozalito is one of many sea turtle conservation sites in Costa Rica. This site is essential for the Olive Ridley sea turtle, which nest on this beach during a synchronized event called the arribada ("arrival by sea"), where hundreds of females come ashore in waves to nest and lay eggs. This is an inspiring sight to witness! If you arrive at the right time, you can cheer the babies on as they go to the ocean! If you head to the beach at night, you may be lucky enough to watch a female lay her eggs! Things to See & Do: The Punta Islita Wild Macaw Reserve is a must-see for anyone who wants to experience the area's natural wonders and see truly remarkable charismatic birds up close. Costa Rica's largest open-air butterfly farm is Jungle Butterfly Farm. They feature fun-filled guided tours highlighting butterflies of open fields, shade species and other insect life in the area. Visit the Women's Artist Cooperative, an Open Air Contemporary Art Museum in Punta Islita. This museum has a social concept of art and creative thinking. This groundbreaking initiative pairs leading Costa Rican and international contemporary artists with emerging talent from local communities. Together, they have created 28 works of outdoor art, dozens of temporary exhibitions in Casa Museo, and countless workshops dedicated to various artistic techniques and ideas. Take a day trip to Samara. This tourist beach town has excellent souvenir shops, restaurants, and shopping. While Samara has its share of amenities, it still has a local vibe and a beach-town feel. Playa Samara attracts all types of travellers with its rows of palm trees and light tan sand. You will find 20-somethings grabbing a beer at one of the beachside bars, couples strolling at sunset, and children at play in the calmer ocean waters. Pack a lunch and spend the day at the magnificent Playa San Miguel. It stretches for approximately six miles (9.6 km) along the Pacific Ocean, and its diversity offers something for every type of traveller looking for almost any adventure. The beach at Playa San Miguel has much to offer, and it is safe to swim at low tide for most ages and ability levels. If surfing is your thing, all you’ll need to do is take a walk down the beach at high or towards high tide, and you’ll find sound, uncrowded waves.
Beautiful property. Amazing view, quiet, clean, and well equipped. Good location to explore everything from Samara (about 45 minutes away) to Playa Coyote but far enough to escape rapid development. Highly recommend Playa Camaronal, San Miguel and Coyote for surfing. The onsite restaurant is delicious with rotating menu options or the ability to fulfill custom requests. The property manager Randy and staff are fantastic and have local connections for anything you might need during your stay. Recommend driving in via Carmona instead of Samara as the road is mostly paved to the 160. 4x4 recommended. Waze also beats google maps for navigation in the area. Be sure to download offline maps. Supermarket down the road carries small selection of produce, dairy, and frozen meats. For more options stock up in Nicoya, Carmona, or Samara. Closest gas and ATM is the Del Mar Service Center on Route 160 near Rio Ora. Credit Cards excepted pretty much everywhere.
If I could give 10 stars, I would. Everything about our experience here was above and beyond expectations. The attention to detail, beauty, and serenity, was unmatched. It’s almost hard to describe because we had so much peaceful, quiet time to ourselves but were greeted with whatever we needed at almost anytime. We felt so at home and comfortable. Randy and Lizeth, Gidget, our hosts Jeff and Nancy, and the whole crew truly made our trip so special and memorable. We will always remember their kindness and generosity. We may have shed a few tears leaving. The fresh meals prepared were such an absolute treat. The private beach just a few minutes down the road, options for massages, excursions, you name it! Sure, the 4x4 came in handy but we didn’t mind the drive whatsoever. I wish I could write more but I’m running out of room. We can’t recommend this place enough! To the team again: Thanks for making it such a memorable experience for us!
I spent many hours obsessing over choosing the right place for this trip; I needed a place away from everything where I could work on healing from intense burnout. I considered places all over the Caribbean, Mexico, the southern US, but the vibes never felt as right as they did with this place. The drive there was an adventure, but it was fun. And thankfully I was right, the vibes were immaculate. Tranquila was the perfect place to rest (comfiest beds!), chill in the private pool, and enjoy wildlife and nature. You can hear the ocean waves, watch the sunset, enjoy so many birds and butterflies, and just be. It was everything I needed. Plus, Randy the property manager, and the rest of the staff were the perfect hosts. I felt safe, supported, and well cared for. Nancy & Jeff replied almost instantly every single time I reached out. If you want a table at night inside, this may not be for you, but it was fantastic for my solo retreat. I hope to be back!
We enjoyed an incredible three-day stay at this Airbnb. The location is both breathtaking and serene, providing the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The on-site restaurant serves exquisite dishes, some of the best we've ever tasted. A short five-minute drive took us to a stunning beach that we had all to ourselves, adding to the allure of the place. The blend of luxury and a rural setting was precisely what we were looking for. Shout out to owner George and property manager Randy, for your outstanding hospitality, you guys are awesome! Pura Vida!
The rural community of Corozalito is quite a sanctuary for nature lovers. Enjoy uninterrupted ocean views from the terraced property—small convenience stores and restaurants nearby. The closest town is Samara, with all the amenities you need.
Public roads to the property. The final 15km are gravel roads. Private parking is available. SUV reccomended.
