Nestled at the top of the Great Dividing Range mid-way between Woodend and Daylesford, and approximately one hour from Melbourne is the quaint village of Trentham. For a town of its size, it offers an abundance of fine food and local produce. RedBeard Bakery turns out sourdough breads and pizzas in its 120-year-old Scotch oven, the Cosmopolitan Hotel is great for local, seasonal pub fare, and Annie Smither¿s Du Fermier is a great place for a leisurely lunch. When in season, load up on chestnuts, cherries and heirloom fruit varieties at the Nutty Orchard, and stop in at Wallaby Creek Olive Grove for on-site tastings of olive products.
Located just minutes from town is Trentham Falls Victoria's single highest drop waterfall, there are many walking tracks in the surrounding forest and also nearby is Blue Mount and McLaughlins lookouts in Wombat state forest. Trentham is a special little township and the perfect base to explore the many attractions of the area.
